More information on the new Transformers cartoon

Some one at another board suggested that the toyline might have the same design asthetics as the Fast Action Battlers. If that's the case then it will be the first time Hasbro has used a design asthetic that turned me off to an entire tf toyline instead of just a few extreme cases. FAB's are worse than Armada.

Tell me ONE show thats worth scheduling my life around that is absolutely unavailable in any other formatt?

Touché my friend. :tflaugh Although I only watch about 4 hours of TV a week myself, I guess I like the convenience of owning a TV. I spend enough time dickin' around with computers all day. Its better that I don't spend all night in front of one downloading, encoding, and searching for shows. Plus, while channel surfing, something will occasionally catch my eye and I'll be glad I stumbled across it. Ultimately, I'm a product of my generation. Saturday morning cartoons (e.g. Transformers and the like) were a staple of my youth and some of my fondest memories of being a kid. I do see where you're comin' from though. Access to almost any media is only a few keystrokes away.

It's weird how there seems to be this "if it's for kids then it will suck" vibe going around here. It seems to me, from the people involved in the cartoon, that it will be "for kids" (although everything with the name "Transformers" on it, save the upcoming movie, has been for kids), it'll just be a GOOD kids' show. If you're complaining about Transformers cartoons being too kid-oriented, then maybe you should re-examine your life a little or something.

There's no telling who this toon is aimed at. It could just be family oriented like most toons are now. I watch Billy and Mandy and good lord do they have a lot of jokes that kids would never understand. I'll be laughing and the kids'll be like, "why's that funny?" Then there was the power Puff Girls episode where the Professor was going on a date and Buttercup slipped something in his shirt pocket that he may need for his date. They never showed what it was. But I'm pretty sure any adult would know. "The Batman" I was watching that one day and man was it intense. The Ep where he's fighting Killer Crock for the first time. I couldn't believe it was a Saturday morning toon.

My dad is in his late fifties and I am in my thirties, but when I went to visit him this past weekend. We both got up saturday to watch The Batman, which was an awesome ep in which Martian Hunter was in it and at the end Bats joined the Justice League. But the point is that many of these shows has very adult dialogue in it.

Most good kids' entertainment has something thrown in there for the grown-ups. (I saw that same episode of PPG, TMan, and I was like OMG did she just stuff condoms in his pocket?? Of course the kids would never pick up on it, like you mentioned, but stuff like that is what makes the best cartoons enjoyable for adults as well. One of my favorite episodes of Spongebob is the one where Spongebob and Patrick learn a "bad word" -- dubbed over with dolphin speak -- but the characters are actually mouthing out the profanity in question :eek "Hey Patrick, how the fuck are you?")

I love that episode

I love that episode

ditto.

Tiny toons had an ep like that. I like the one where they're drunk too.

I have to agree here. They're great for five year olds and TF Gobot fans, but yeah....

So they're age-appropriate, right? I don't get the whole thing about picking up a kid's toy and saying "this sucks" because it's made for kids.
