Can plastic be bleached?

Recommended Posts

I've found a few good guides to dying plastic, sounds easy. What I can't find is anything on bleaching it--is this possible?

Not really. Though you could probably remove some color from plastic with bleach to do so would damage the plastic to the point that it would no longer be structurally sound.

bleach would eat your plastic. its why you usually see some of these guidelines with cleaning parts you have to dilute your cleaning solution. Anything designed to liquify dried paint will also liquify the plastic unless dilluted.

I thought as much... it's awfully hard to search for dying information on this board because "dye" is too short for the search engine! I should have bought SS for my seekers instead of discount Skywarp, but I couldn't resist the essentially free Prime molds.

Yeah, that sucks the most about the search engine on this board. What are you interested in bleaching?

Discount? I never even saw the damned things here :(

My area was pretty erratic. One store had plenty that eventually went down to $10, one bottomed out at $14, and one never got any.

Skywarp. Yeah, I know, black... the worst of 'em all.
