:D

I find it kind of strange every time someone mentions Outkast they never actually try to think of an actual song, just a random Outkast song'll do...LOL

In my opinion, there's no way you're going to have rock on the soundtrack. I think an updated theme is a good idea, though. So...I'm going to say that a collaborative effort with Rob Dougan (because his Matrix contributions made those films) and Mister Hahn (Linkin Park's DJ), with possible assistance by the X-Ecutioners. You don't need big name people on the soundtrack, just around 16-17 instrumentals for certain characters or fight scenes, and I think you should be set. And as for an updated theme song, despite the fact that they do annoy the hell out of me, I could only see Powerman 5000 do it and take it seriously. If they update the version from the previous animated movie, I can see that working quite well (imagine Spyder's screaming voice saying "Transformers" and the guitars kicking in).

:D

I actually didn't mean you, chief, but your post did pop it in my head. I just have always found the lack of respect that rap/hip hop gets online anywhere...you can go to a wrestling site and find hate for Triple H, you can go anywhere toys are mentioned and find hate for Mattel...and now I'm just noticing that hip hop's right up with them.

But, if you want an unknown Outkast song that I think fits Jazz perfectly, look up "Tough Guy"...or "Wheelz Of Steel". Definitely "Wheelz", though, since it's got a spacy beat to it.

You got me thinking, man. This isn't a soundtrack by any means, but it is a set of songs I have that reminds me of various things in Transformers. Give some of them a listen, tell me what you think...

A majority of them have a robotic feel to them, and it combines rap, rock, some techno/DJ work, etc. They either incorporate the feel of TFs or are essential epic-like songs worthy of a mention (Peter Gabriel's).

definately has to be a majority of 80's hair metal, metalica, ac/dc, definately GnR, with some new songs from new bands thrown in like some Offspring of Linkin Park either covering old 80's somgs or making 80's type songs. and they gotta have the touch played at least once, for all us hardcore fans. any extra Blot thrown in for the fans would be appreciated.

I dunno 'bout you, but I reckon on mixing up classic 80's LOUD rock bands like AC-DC, Metallica, Motorhead with more up to date stuff like One Minute Silence, The Darkness, Rage Against the Machine, Sepultura, etc. I'll list my ideal playlist:-

One Minute Silence - Revolution - Main Title

AC-DC - Highway to Hell - Optimus Prime

Metallica - Sad But True - Megatron

Sepultura - Bullet The Blue Sky - Decepticon Jets

The Darkness - LOve on the Rocks with No Ice - Sunstreaker & Sideswipe

These are the only tunes I can think of at the moment. Sorry!!

Dudes, 80's, c'mon. A lot of it sounded good, but if they're going to do ANYTHING right with this movie (crosses fingers and mumbles a few prayers), the music needs to be contemporary or future-looking. It HAS to be electronic, and it HAS to sound like stuff humans can't do easily. It has to have a pretty hard or magical edge, too. I thought of KMFDM after my first post here, they do really good sounding stuff, like they would do great to a mover-and-shaker tune, like as the alarm klaxons are sounding at Autobot Headquarters and they roll out to meet the foe head-on someplace.

Oh, man, I'm starting to freak out at the awesomeness my imagination is hitting me with. *shiver*

I'd say a bit of everything as for music goes. I have a list of ideas.

22. Any metal before 1990 (I.E. early Metallica or Megadeth)

There's my ideas. I'm not trying to be an ass, I just think the soundtrack should be more refreshing and diverse. And before anyone says anything, I love the original TF movie and its original instrumental score, but would anyone like those songs if they weren't in the movie? Some might and probably do, I just don't think I would. They proboably wouldn't have seen the light of day otherwise. These are just some songs that I think would add a new dimension to the film.

yes! , i thought i would be the only one here who knows of Autechre. Your whole list is perfect, not a single trace of any crap like linkin park. The 80's was a fantastic decade musically. It would be a crime if they dont use 80's music in a movie set in the 80's.

SOMEONE SHOOT ME PLEASE!!!!!!!! I just had a dream that Britney Spears sang the theme song in the movie!!!! AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
