Alt Rumble - what U think about him?

Recommended Posts

Well, my engine and trunk weapons do not attach to anything. I see how they could but they simply don't. The little black connecting pieces have to be turned about so that the weapons can fit inside. My hood and trunk close, so I guess it doesn't matter that the weapons don't connect to anything.

Chrome enamel? Anybody know of how to replace a missing chrome from a side mirror?

Sertile I would complain to the seller who sent you that Rumble. That's bs.

I'm pretty sure I'll get these guys...but when I see them in store I may change my mind.

It's always wild hearing, "Man that's super ghey!!" when you have no problem with something. It's borderline confusing. It would have been cool if rumble had hands and if you couldn't see his face in car mode but other than that, I think he's essential to an Alt collection. Screw that, he's cool on his own.

Rumble has been such a huge pain for me.

He was sold out in my home town within a couple days. I regretably didn't buy it the moment I saw it, figured with a dozen in stock I had time to come back.

I then checked 6 walmarts in 4 states on my drive back to college, couldn't find it.

Then I started checking all the websites for sightings, closest put him 3 hours away.

Next I started calling the walmarts within 100 miles, nothing for a week.

Finally found a Walmart with him 80 miles away yesterday, so I drove out to pick it up (had other business out of town, the walmart was an extra 30 miles away).

Bought 2 because I was considering keeping 1 MISB or play the Alternator Fairy (I impulsively buy things and return them to other stores, artifically spread distribution. If you ever see a single figure show up, it may be me)

While I was picking my 2, I noticed a wide variety of quality of the figures. Just looking through the plastic I noticed several problems. Trunks wouldn't close, the grill around the Honda symbol in front badly molded, obvious scratches on plastic/paint, what looked like extra paint, etc.

I picked out the best looking 2, when I got home it was a different story.

The first one I opened was MISSING the trunk gun and had a couple minor scratches on hood and roof. Otherwise, looked nice and transformed back and forth well.

I opened the 2nd to see if it had the gun, it did but the parts on the car were insanely tight and had a couple other flaws transformed. Couldn't get it back into car mode well. Shouldn't have been a problem because the other one was so easy.

I'm returning the 2nd one today (minus the gun). Overall I'm just disappointed. Sure the figure looks pretty nice, but considering the time/effort put into finding one and the quality control standards, it's all all comes down to luck. I don't like paying $20 + Gas for something that is so flawed brand new. I guess I'm holding a lesser toy to masterpiece standards.

I got a ravage scratched on the drivers side and problems on the painting, its seems like machines scratches. Idk, just returned it as I had a second one. No problems at all w/ Rumble, only a little fighting to keep him standing on his feet on a nice pose, but thats ok. I liked both pretty much.

Ravage has a European license plate for some bizarre reason. These just aren't up to the usual Alt standards at all, and if I were to guess I'd say Takara had zero involvement in designing them.

Ravage has a European/UK plate because:

1/ He's a Jaguar, which is British and thus would have a UK plate.

2/ The toy was originally made for the UK market. The USA is an afterthought.

Thus, there is nothing "strange" about him having a Euro plate.

Remember kiddies: The USA is NOT the only country in the world to have cars!

I don't find it strange he has a UK license plate, but just wondering more so why the steering wheel is on the left side. Is Ravage like that in the UK?

lol yes the wheel is on the wrong side for him to be from the UK and the rear plate is the wrong colour (it should be yellow)

but he is right to be french or german etc

I like Rumble, both modes.

Passed on Rumble, but got Ravage. The shoulder and no hands makes Rumble less interesting to me. He just seem how Alt Prime is, clunky and limited to pose.
