Transformers Movie Production Stills on Yahoo! Movies

Recommended Posts

Does the picture look good? Yep. Does it look like a good giant robot movie? Yep. Does it look like the TF's I've collected since the 80s? Nope.

Just like the american Godzilla movie was a good giant lizard stomping around in the city, this is going to be a good giant robot fight movie, more than likely. The GINO movie, if you are a fan of the orignal Godzilla movie, however was not a good representation of a Godzilla movie. Just like from the looks of it, I don't expect a true TF movie out of it, especially given the interviews with everyone involved and the amount of swearing and self-promotion going in the interviews.

And how is TINO anymore offensive to the fans then insulting G1 fans with the derogetory "GeeWun" comments?

You had a decent enough post, until you tossed in "I don't expect a true TF movie out of it".

So tell me how a movie about good robots that turn into cars fighting bad robots that turn into military vehicles in a covert war on the planet earth over the very relic that grants new life to their robotic race is not "true" to Transformers?

Or is it the look that bothers you?

my excitement has settled in.

now i'm just staring at the Prime/Bonecrusher pic in amazement. it IS realism at its finest!

i really really really wanna see this movie now!

Sometimes I wish budget would have called for two versions of this movie to be made. This one, with the realistic looking robots, and one with the cartoon style robots so people would finally understand HOW INCREDIBLY LAME THEY WOULD LOOK IRL SETTINGS....

But alas they'll never comprehend.

EDIT: Eh, forget all this. I was grumpy this morning. But now that I've bathed in the sweet love of these pics, I don't wanna argue.

Part of it is the look. I really don't like the heads, or the broken/crumped look a lot of the chests have. Or all the exposed wiring/substructures.

And why do I say it's not going to be a good TF Movie? For starters, a lot of the people here want it be so violent it gets an "R" rating, which it originally did, until Speilberg used his clout to get it reduced to a PG-13. What people cannot seem to remember is that KIDS are going to want to see this, very badly. Do we really need it have someone getting impaled, or having their head shot off to make it good? Cripes, I remember a post (might be on here, not to sure) were after the "Bot comes out of the pool" they hoped the little girl got stepped on.

Is outright violence and gore all TF-Fans seem to want? Is that what really makes a good action sequence?

Remember, Star Wars was a huge hit. Even the prequels made massive money. Now, outside of Anakin being burned up, how many bloody deaths where shown in that movie? Not many. Yet that series managed to hold the rapt attention of millions of fans for almost 30 years now. And be able to appeal to everyone, both young and old.

Also, given how closely Don Murphy has stuck to source materal in the past (LXG anyone), and the way Micheal Bay makes movies that just fall apart in the last act (The Island, The Rock), I honestly expect this movie not to have the same spirit as the animated shows. This is all IMHO. Perhaps it will change after I see it.

And RobotJox has transforming robots in it. Should it be considered be considered Transformers related? :)

Sorry for the huge rant, it's late and I probably should be in bed.

Could you please post a pic of a movie Transformer that features exposed wiring. I keep hearing about them, but have yet to see one.

In true Shia style, this story actually happened to his new film "Disturbia" and he got Speilberg's help with the rating from working on the Transformers. While they are aiming for a "PG-13" rating on Transformers, the film has not yet been submitted to the MPAA for any review. Source

god Bonecrusher looks so awesome
