War Within Jetfire

This is actually going to be a low-poly game model, but it should look pretty durn good by the time I'm done with it:

Modelled in 3D Studio Max, mapped in UVLayout and UVMapper, soon to be textured in Photoshop and animated in 3D Studio Max. :D

The intent of the model is that it will be for the game Freedom Force. However, I'm going to save the MAX files and the Photoshop working files so that if the upcoming Transformers game turns out to be moddable, I can re-work it to fit its specs - adding detail for a higher polycount (detail that will be in the skin of the Freedom Force version), setting it up for a Normal Map and proper Specular Map, and so on.

And a quick turnaround of the skinned pack... note that I still haven''t finished skinning the 'underside' of the center of the pack...

A quick GI preview of the current state of the skin. Still gotta finish the shoulders, and then do the arms and legs. Then it'll be rigging and animation time.

Heh, dude, it's for the game Freedom Force, with a 'suggested' polygon limit of only 2000 polygons. Jetfire there is 2564 tris, but most people that still play it have comps that won't even notice the extra 564 tris.

As for problems in 3DS Max... no, why do you ask?

See?

'Course, I do this kinda stuff for a living...

*is really annoyed that he never got to play Freedom Force*

I bought the damn game and the disc wouldn't work. I took it back and never picked up a new one :grr

Nice work, very well done.

I used to play Freedom Force a couple of years ago. Somebody smart had made frames and skins for Optimus Prime, Armorless Magnus, Soundwave, Megatron, and I think one other. And it was to scale too.. Pretty damn fun having big robots running around towering over all the enemies.

If I could get my PC up and running again I could probably be persuaded to get back into it. That Jetfire model is freaking sweet.
