I have read in sevral places that Shockwave was crushed under Unicron's hand when he grabs Cybertron. Did this scene ever get animated or storyboarded? If so, are there any pics out there??

As I recall shockwave watches a lot of stuff get trashed just in time to see what he's either in or on get torn up and crushed. Never saw him actually buy the robot farm, though.

Here's what I've been able to piece together: In the original storyboards/script, there is a scene where after Unicron attacks Cybertron, it cuts to the inside of a building (presumably the con HQ) where Shockwave gives orders to scramble... then in the next scene, Unicron's hand smashes through the base. In the final movie, Shockwave gives the order to scramble, and then Unicron crushes a building shown from an aerial shot... I would come to the conclusion that was Shockwave's demise... but he does show up again in FFOD. (also.. it's been awhile since I've seen the flick.. I can't seem to find my copy of the DVD anywhere... so some of the details may be a bit off.. but I think the jist of it is pretty close)

What the article(s) said was that the actual death scene was never put in the movie. I was hoping that at least it got half-way animated and is floating around on the internet...

Shockwave's death was originally in the script of the movie, but was never animated so there is no visual proof that Shockwave died in the film, but as others have said, it was in the original script.

what is shown in the movie seeing as i checked. unicron smashes the planet with his hand. Shockwave is shown saying "Decepticons we're under attack. SCRAMBLE" then it cuts away and shows unicron being attacked by the decepticons and others. so no it doesnt show him being killed.

I saw it at the theater. Shockwave is shown getting smashed after that part, but he's so tiny it's hard to see on the DVD version.

I would come to the conclusion that was Shockwave's demise... but he does show up again in FFOD.

 

 

You don't see him die, but it's implied. The 'appearance' of Shockwave in FFOD is actually just a miscolored animation error. It looks like they used some stock animation to fill in some "cannon fodder". If you look closely in that FFOD scene you also see a random series 1 seeker and a coulple miscolored constructicons if I remember correctly.
