thanx ss01.

not bad looking. I don't have either of the armada versions... so i might pick this one up.

Universe should never do Armada repaints. Period. It is far too early to be repainting figures that were already repainted in the Armada line. And every Armada repaint that they've released so far are ones that most people already have, and they've been given horrible color schemes.

Whats interesting is that Hasbro goofed-up by releasing the repaint of "Mach-alert/Prowl" as "Inferno", when EVERYONE knew he should be "Red alert" and then, after saying "well, we lost the name", they release THIS toy, which looks like Energon Prowl as "Red-alert".

Ye gads. as far as Im concerened, he is Prowl and Inferno is red alert.

but Red alert looks nothing like Energon Prowl

They goofed, but not in that sense. According to what Aaron Archer said, the figure was supposed to be called Red alert but there was a packaging error and by the time it was caught it was too late to change things so they had to stick with Inferno. So it wasn't because they lost the name (because they never did or claim they did), it never was because of that because they had the name and had every intention of using it.

makes sense, I wondered why they called him Inferno when Red alert would've been more appropriate.

Comparrison pics:

And I think bothe red-alert and prowl have been used alternately for the Japanese and USA releases of the toy molds.

sorry, not seeing it. They both got different robot/vehicle modes. Prowl looks kinda like a formula-1 racer and Red alert looks like an SUV. I guess they're similar in that they're both blue.
