Hey Guys - started this one yesterday, just doing all the chunks and pieces.

I just love this design - such a cool concept - also the Dome Zero design is growing on me!

Right now i'm doing the finishing touchings for the body, and i'll start doing the body pieces in a few hours.

Wow, just like me to start something and get REALLY bored with it so very quickly...

Anyways, same old story, looking thru old files, found this guy again, started workin on it yesterday and today!

Basically, the proxy is pretty much done, just gotta tidy/polish it up in a few parts and make the head and hands - then texture the bugger up.

Dome Zero? Whazzat?

However, really nice job on the 3D-former. What's the polycount? Just from looking I'd guess it's in the 8k - 12k range, unless there's a lot of bevels we can't see in the wireframe.

The "Classics" Hot Rod is modeled after a 'Dome-Zero' japanese concept car - basically Japan's answer to a Lambourghini/Ferrari in the 70's or something, wiki it.

So far - its 5500 polys, but i expect it to jump up astronomically when the hands are done, and the head, and the interior of the car (going to base it off the movie int. shot) but as it turns out - might only be a 1 seater... myeh.

I think i might model the hands off IDW's 1-shot on hot rod - i really like the way Nick Roche has interpreted the character.

Anyways, updates soon.

Interior partially done - needs seats, steering wheel, tacho's etc etc, but the connecting kibble is done. Just the hands and head to go! 6500 polys.

I'd think the readouts (tachometer, etc) could be done with a Normal or bump map with corresponding diffuse (and ambient for glowing bits) map, at the very least to save on polys, since it's not a VITAL piece to actually REQUIRE geometry.

What i meant by that tho, is actually having 1 or 2 actual tacho sorta things on the dash, to give it that sorta hotted up / riced up feel.
