why do hasbro use clear plastic for eyes when light can't pass through

Bumblebee has the back of his head painted because Hasbro couldn't get the rights to the name "Overdrive"?

SSSH! People aren't meant to know such things.

I did the same thing. I also took out the back of Prime's head and painted it the same shade of blue as his head, and his eyes blue as well, and while I was at it, I painted the area between his eyes silver so that his eyes wouldn't blend in and he wouldn't have "Soundwave syndrome" of a mouthplate and a visor. I'd like to do it to Hot Rod, but too small and there's no way to get them out because there's no screw in the back of his head to undo it.

However, I have no gripes about the light piping for Mirage, Grimlock, Megatron and the vs. pack Prime and Megatron.

However, I wish the eyes on Astrotrain were darker cause they're too light and blend into his all white head.
