Cool, I like Him.

sorry, first thing to came to mind- in any case, i don't really care for this look.

You win simply off virtue of remembering the toy's "face". It's what made me so peeved back when Alt "Ironhide" "turned into" Skids.

Fans all "OMG THE HEAD IS NOT LIKE SKIDS'S TOY IT IS CLEARLY IRONHIDE'S CARTOON HEAD!"

And the occasional sane person "Well, what about Skids's cartoon head. And why are we ignoring Ironhide's toy head, if toy heads matter so much?"

And the fans cried "STFU".

Where was I? Oh yeah. Decent bot mode. I'm curious to see it pulled off in plastic, and if the limonade is gonna remain as the dominant color.

Atleast his head isn't a giant windsheild

And who said TFans can't be positive? ;)

:tflaugh :luv

This process of movie bot reveals followed by fan backlash is getting old and predictable by now.

And BTW I would disagree with the first rule of design being simplicity, at least when it comes to movie characters. Giger's "Alien" immediately comes to mind. I think "visual intelligibility" might be a better way to put it. Ratchet does look a bit cluttered. But again, these pictures mean nothing without being able to see them in motion.

So again, I shall wait until I've seen the movie to pronounce judgment and stuff.

You know the purpose of the Alien looking so different, so complex was to evoke terror by making the creature seem as foreign as possible.

Based on the reaction of many of the fans, I guess that practice still works ;)

But I agree with you. Nobody knows what these things will look like on the big screen, in motion.

I mean, of all people, TF fans should know by now, that concept art rarely, if ever, provides total foresight into the finished product.

I've been nothing but positive about the new movie, so far, but it kind of seems, especially with this design that they're making it complicated looking just to be visually complex. First rule of design is to keep it simple when possible.

I do have to agree with that. There is now way in hell the toys could acually look like these autobots look. I doubt that the rumored Ultimate class ($69 I think) will be as complex as these movie images. That's my main worry. I hated that G1 toys looked nothing like the show. *Pete, for me, the show came first* Rachet not having a head sucked like crazy.
