How young a target audience do you think they're trying to hit?

As of yet? I don't think that they're even trying to hit an audience with their lack of promotion.

Superman 3 had the promos and it still sucked. Actually the only thing I seem to remember about it (promos) is supposedly how much the Clark Kent actor looked liked C.Reeves Clark Kent and how the score was matched. Hoorghey...

As for the Island, I seem to remember (don't know if it was here or not) people were ripping Bay on that too.

I know its too much to ask to start seeing some real previews for the this Big Powerglideing Robot movie since we're at almost 8 months until this movie is out. Seriously the last 4 months seemed like a blur to me.

Also since this is not a toy movie, I wonder if the movie will be advertised on CN since it will be the kids that start pushing mommy and daddy out the door to see it.

Are you talking about Superman Returns? Also, how is this not a "toy movie?" I fail to see how it could be any more of a toy movie, considering it's a movie based on a toy line and there's going to be merch through the roof.

Technically, this time around the movie comes first and the toys come after instead of the other way around. Still the same thing though so just ignore me. FREE POST!!

My money's on "Night At The Museum" if this is true--seems the most "kid-friendly."

The movie's PG-13, not PG.

Texan, please--tell me they haven't been marketing "blow-em-up" PG-13 movies to kids since 1988.

This movie is going to be targeted to the Spider-Man / Batman / Superman / X-Men crowd... of course pre-teens see those movies too, but they're not marketed to that demographic because teenagers would think they were "kiddie" movies if they did & they wouldn't go see them.

not that this is the first time this conversation has been had

Nor the last, I wager.

But I digress--I think that "Night At The Museum" is going to draw in a wider audience than anything else that week, except maybe "Rocky Balboa." But my money's still on "Night" because how else are they going to make it a hit? ;)

Actually, I just realized that I have no idea what "Night at the Museum" is. I was thinking of that "Kids at the Airport" movie for some reason.

Carry on.

Ah, I was wondering why you seemed so... focused.

"Night At The Museum" is the Ben Stiller "things come to life in a museum at night crazy go nuts" one, BTW.
