Been real busy lately so I haven't worked on this too much. Put a couple days in this week and here's the progress.

Blast Offs built out of a Blotty ol Sky Lynx and Alternators Prime.

I still need to do the leg mod here to make him taller. He's actually not extended right now and crouching cause I haven't severed the shuttle body yet. Basically, he TFs like the G1 d00d only the lower part of the cockpit becomes the chest.

I got a parts Rhino from Loki of TFans. I can now finish the cab and wrap this one up in the next couple weeks. It will feature working doors and an interior. The roof will need to be cut down as the original Onslaught had a lower roof line. Kinda has the same TF as the G1 self only the chest will face upwards and extend to complete the cab.

Here's a family pic so far. I tossed Swindles last set of arms in order to come up with something more proportionate to his body. He will also need an addition when combining to Bruticus. I'm thinkin just a large foot attachment should make him tall enough cause Brawl a huge Starscream.

Rear shot. It was a pain in the ass to come up with a way to have Blast Offs fin position up onto his back like the toon. Luckily, Sky Lynx had a solution.

THIS is so much fun to look at! I can't wait to see a final product! ^_^

Simply extraordinary. I'm can't wait to see this finished! (But take your time, don't rush it! :thumb )

I have to ask, what do you use to join sections together in the transformation? For instance, Onslaught's arms. When they form the front of the truck, what keeps them together? Is it just the tension in the shoulders or is there some kind of clip?

oh daaaaamn

Steve, your kitbashing skills Rock the Casbah!

I lovethat he's creating them pretty much all at the same time! Makes it a pretty sound project because he'll be thinking of where to put connections while constructing the bots.

Any idea what you're planning to use for Vortex? I'm thinking Movie Blackout or Cybertron Evac myself.

The Rhino toy grill actually has little loops on it which clip over the inner arms and hold them together. The shoulders are stiff but the clip makes them align perfect so it was a lucky break. Because the grill covers the fists, it will be on a hinge which folds underneath the backpack blasters when in bot mode. When it goes to robot mode, the doors will open alowing the arms to move side to side. The cetral tires (Not shown) will sit where the hips are (truck) then flip up towards the back in bot mode. The cannons will be pinned to his ass but will have a plate to allow it to move up in robot mode/ forward in truck mode but will rotate with the waist.

I can't wait to try out my new paint system on this sucker.

I've got a blackhawk model for him. It's the closest I could find to the original design. (I know none of them are exact to original, so I went with the closest thing I could find. Afterall, a tank is a tank to most people. A chopper a chopper) Woot!

Anywho, the alternator skeleton hasn't been chosen yet. And I don't want to use existing molds so this build is completely a one-off.
