G1 Keychain version of bumblebee

Recommended Posts

is it worth the same as the original if it's MOSC? Does it still transform? Can you take the chain off?

crap! Someone just took the $10 buy it now on a g1 keychain bumblebee and cliffjumger auction I was watching!

I don't believe it is smaller, actually. I recall them being exactly the same, outside of that plastic loop you mentioned.

yeah, they're 1:1 identical outside of the keyring loop. Value currently is going to be cheaper than original, but volume alone may dictate the keyring-formers being worth more further down the road, but it's always a gamble on something like that if you're looking at collector value only. And yes, the keyring is easily removable

I got the japanese Brawn keychain, plus one in black, too!

Just spotted:

wish I had seen that sooner. I bought the 4 American versions for a little bit more than that but for the cheapest I saw of the American versions.

If you're gonna get a reissue Bumblebee, go for the TFC reissue - that way you get Bumblebee with a show-like head, as well as reissues of Huffer, Powerglide, Gears, Cosmos and Warpath. Unless you don't really care about show likeness and want to go for toy accuracy, then... um... just go get an original Bumblebee. Are they that expensive?

I've never considered the keychains to be terribly good reissues - mostly because of the hooks for the keychains kinda ruins their look for me. I don't mind the moulds being used for new characters like convention exclusives.

all the loose g1 bumblebees in good condition at botcon were $20. I paid around that for the windcharger, cliffjumper, brawn, and bumblebee keychains. I might get the tfc reissue but I doubt it.
