I've never seen him in pics without that display stand or that stabilizing clear stick thing up his ass.

 

So, if you take off the kibble of the rear part of the jet, can he stand up on his own without having a...um...foreign object up his skidplate?

Oh yeah, like Eviltwin said, he can stand with the kibble too. It all depends on how you position his legs, toe and heel.

That's sweet... good to know he can do that. Although I have to admit that I'd probably leave him on the stand forever, since flying is cool.

None at all. Unless you are a kitbasher and want to totally destroy his jet mode. The way the head transforms, Coneheads cant even be concidered in the future. There is a molded collar piece that almost stops Screamer flat head from passing through. They'd have to remold that part to make it a possibility.

There would be some remoulding required to do the conehead.

 

After all, Classics Starscream cannot become a conehead yet Classics Ramjet from the next wave is a conehead, clearly indicating some retooling done for that mould.
