Classics (G1) Megatron

Here ya go... (first of MANY I would guess)

It's still a WIP, and some detailing still needs to be done. But.... HE HAS RED EYES AGAIN!!!! :thumb (Unscrew the head, take out the light piping fixture and paint the eye parts of it, then reassemble... it's MUCH easier.)

But it is those damn green wings on his back, I am at a loss on how to paint them. Should the underside be black, with red in the 'chamber' that shows through to the other side? I am not sure how to proceed!

Help!

aRE HIS "WINGS" detachable?

if so take them off mask the areas that don't need to be painted and fire away...........

is it hard to mask the rest of Megs for painting?

Using a flash on a camera really helps to see the spots that I missed!

Looking at this again, I didn't like how the knee joints looked painted red, so I changed them to black. But I still can't decide on how to paint the wings!!!!!

CT, the Megs is easy to disassemble, minus the wings. :thumb

Wow...that looks mighty cool.

paint the clear plastic that comes through onto the outside red and the rest of the wings black. atleast on the part seen from the front of the robot mode. the outside shouldbe grey with the said red parts.

Is the clear green of the wings removable? I don't have Megatron yet, but it looks like the green plastic is a separate piece.

The wings are actually completely transparent green on the bot side, and on the outside it is painted grey, minus the areas that shine through. Think of those clear Energon weapons, if they were painted on one side only.

What I did was paint the whole inside black, just to see how it would turn out. In any case, it's better than how it originally came IMO:

Can anyone offer any ideas on how to make him even better?
