Yea...I couldn't wait either.

Damn!! Way to show off. Wasn't Screamer's lower abdomen light gray?

no it wasn't

Yes it was. I looked at a pic of him again in the instruction book. the area right above his waist is gray and then red again right before his breast plate. Now on the toy, if you dont have the stickers, he's all red on the sides.

he looks better without the gray though

Does anybody make molds here? My Starscream didn't come with his right distal ring and pinky fingers. If anybody can help me and wanted to make a small amount of cash please pm me and we can work out a deal, thanks.

Mine was missing his left thumb, so if you find a mold maker let me know. I'm short a digit too.

Holy Sheeot! Looks good but I just don't have the balls to paint a fig this expensive. Blotting five bucks away on paint chips is one thing but.....dAmn.

My hats off to you peepz.

P.S._MikePrime-that really depends on the nation the model is issued in. Given government contracts.....Every nation has a camo color they stick with. the U.S. is grey but this fig is Jap release. Just food for thought.

Aside from some of the camoflauge, the base color on those jets is still gray.

I'm not saying your wrong just saying that this is a possable real to life paint scheme....

Yeah, but the fact that the G1-style gray does exist in real life makes the color choice for MP SS so damned goofy that it's to the point where it's become mind-boggling. Why would they go with such an odd color? They did have G1 in Japan, didn't they? It's just crazy.

They also have blue-gray jets in Japan. They obviously weren't interested in the G1 colors; the existing red and blue on the figure is just there to visually break up the monotony (taken from the MP Starscream booklet).

He looks more like a big toy now. Which I guess is fine, if that's what you want.

As interesting as the original gray/green color scheme is, I never did find any definitive imagery to suggest that color is mainstream.

And bright red and blue is wayyyyy mainstream. :tftongue

*Shrug*

If I get one and sum up the courage to paint the bugger hes gonna be Skywarp anyways. :tftongue

Well, no. But it is Starscream.

I dunno, I think the whole "is it mainstream?" part of the conversation is a kind of excuse. I think a lot of us never agreed with why they chose that color in the first place, and I'm not sure most of us believe it was chosen because it was more 'mainstream.' (Still could be true, never really know) Hence, we're arguing about what IS more common so that we might justify why it isn't exactly Starscream's colors. And we all start putting our piece into it. (including me) So, if it WERE mainstream, (or "agreeably" so) we would probably be a lot more accepting of why it isn't that perfect, uncommon-but-familiar color pattern.

Since we feel it's not...well, we go into mod-mode. And from there, we just go "Forget Mainstream, make Starscream!" Bright red and blue to match. And hey, even a good handful of the people here that stated they weren't going to paint their MP03 said so mainly out of fear of ruining it, and you can't blame 'em.

Now, all this could be wrong. Just what I've been noticing. And I still say--mainstream or not--it's a decent base tone for TC. So it's not a total loss I guess.

I think some people don't want to try painting it because they are not confident in their painting skills. I want MP SS to be gray, but even I had bought this one, I certainly wouldn't bother re-painting him.
