Um Rodimus holding the Matrix in front of Prime is gonna get the beat down, unless of course he was cleaning it for Optimus and stood there to proclaim that it was cleaned :tflaugh

 

and Hasbro swayed from all the original designs not just Optimus.

My only real concern reguarding any of these was the quality and durability of each figure. I hate cheap feeling plastic toys. The A/E/C lines held up pretty well and I was really hoping the trend would continue through the classics line.

 

With all the rave reviews popping up looks like I really have nothing to worry about.

The G1 jets were similar, but just didn't have the bar going across. It sacrifices a little in jet mode but adds a lot in robot mode. It's something I can live with.

Hot Rod...mmm"Rodimus" is worst than Astrotrain, actually I'm going to pass this "Rodimus", maybe my "Classic Hot Rod" will be Cybertron Excellion, he is a better Hot Rod than Hot Rod himself. :tflaugh

Can you link me to that Penny-Arcade comic? I searched for it but couldn't find it.

 

Actually I would say that they didn't sway too far from the original Starscream design, in terms of his appearance in both modes.

I don't understand all the dislike for Rodimus. The car and robot mode are perfectly done, and his Booster/JetPack/FlameThrower/gun is awesome. Ans the sawblade is just a nice touch.

I agree GUI. Rodimus is awesome. He's my favorite classic deluxe to fiddle with in fact.
