It's a tasteful repaint. I know repaints are a "necessary evil", but I do like it when they give nods to old characters instead of just arbitrarily picking a color off the ole-color-wheel.

I fail to see how it's a necessary evil in a line that's going to last only 6 months.

I hate repaints as much as the other....however keep in mind that there were alot of repaints in the first series....alot.....

 

so, its not to much of a problem, but give him a damn trailer like the first one, G1 ultra magnus NEVER looked like optimus in the cartoon....however the classics line is looking very cool....

Who is it here that was selling repro and custom parts, like heads to make Trailbreaker out of Alt. Nemesis Prime? I think an Ultra Magnus style head would do wonders for this Classics Ultra Magnus.

In the original advert for g1 ultra Magnus it shows the white Prime body hopping into the more familiar battle suite to fight Galvatron.

Cool stuff, but meh - it doesn't hold water - the "white Prime" part is just shown as part of the transformation sequence - he STILL goes into the armor and in the animated bits, you don't even SEE the cab in a seperate robot form.

 

All I'm saying is, if they're gonna do an Ultra Magnus for classics, do it right.
