Well, Okay, I admit it. That's what I'm hoping for:

Ramjet - Starscream Repaint with New Wings and Arm-Guns.

basically what the original was :tflaugh

 

actually what I'd like to see is a second mold for the coneheads, like a different jet altogether. Why not, they weren't really F-15s anyway. Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet as repaints of each other is something I could live with.

But... isn't this thread about Starscreaming because figures that weren't originally straight repaints becoming just that in the Classics line?!?!?

 

By all virtue of INTERNET fairness, if you do not like a straight Prime repiant as Magnus, you are not ALLOWED to like a strait Dirge repaint as either Ramjet or Thrust, let alone both.

G1 Ultra Magnus came with a white Prime cab. We see here a white Prime cab. So far, so good.

 

But as I've already said, that white cab formed a part of Ultra Magnus which was barely even visible in his robot mode. And just to be clear, Ultra Magnus' "robot mode" is not the cab by itself. It's the cab plus trailer, as it was intended by Hasbro, and as was depicted in every TF medium.

 

The issue here is incompleteness, not straight repaints. As I mentioned earlier, this is like selling Zarak and calling it "Scorponok".

 

Until Dreamwave came along a f*cked it all up. Another reason to hate them aside from all of the Pat Lee bullBlot.

Hasbro is going to make repaints where repaints are somewhat conceivable...Magnus is one case. I'm sure SOME kids thought White Prime was Magnus de-armored. Dreamwave didn't just pull that concept out of their butts...I can't give them that much credit for originality.

and now this, the 7th. 7 'repaints' out of all the other versions of Prime out there, and people still Starscream & whine about MP-02, and now whining about this :roll And yet hardly anyone bitched about E. Magnus being a repaint of Armada Overload. And consider that 4 out of those 7 Prime repaints are "G1" and therefore faithful to the original incarnation. SO technically this classics magnus is a 5th "G1"

 

 

Oh, and I'm also guessing most of these whiners are the same people who complained that Alt Prowl didn't use the subaru mold like 'streak & smokescreen, and also the same who Starscream when Thundercracker & Skywarp are different molds than Starscream :roll

As far as I know, G1 Ultra Magnus was never a white Prime. Not on the box art, not in the comics, not in the cartoon. This is like selling Zarak and calling it Scorponok.

Just saying that it's precedent. He was a repaint character from the start, it shouldn't be a surprise to everyone that he still is.

 

 

Now, I'm also willing to bet, that if this repaint is sold with a new trailer that he combines with, all the Starscreaming will cease instantly.

I mean yeah, I played with "white Prime" just like everyone else, but I knew that it was just me playing and making stuff up. Like how I used to have Yoda ride around in the big R2-D2 when I was a kid. It's just stuff you do, but it's not like it's supposed to be official or anything.

 

And for the record I'm not surprised by this, but I am disappointed.

 

Also I find it interesting how Ultra Magnus is the only case in which people insist upon the Diaclone origin for a TF toy...

Why can't they ever do a new Ultra Magnus? They could have reused the mold, but painted it Ultra Magnus colors, or something close to them, and given it an Ultra Magnus head.

 

 

 

If this is truly a straight repaint, I would be interested if someone made a custom Ultra Magnus head for sale.

I like it, for classics I'm fine with repaints, as long as they go back to classics after the movie I am really happy.
