Character Bios

After some of you guys mentioned that the bios were on the website, I went and checked it out and sure enough...

But it sort of proved my point. Reading the bios made me more interested in getting the toys. They were mostly Energon, and I don't really like Energon, but the bios made me feel more into it.

But if I wasn't quite geeky enough to be part of a Tansformers Fan Forum, I never would have known to check the website, so I'm sure that Hasbro is just losing out sales-wise because of this issue.

I think it's a fair trade-off. Thing of how long it was before Armada that we got catalogs and comics w/ every toy. Printing a bio on the card would be much cheaper than all that extra packaging, printing, and paper used in the catalog/comic combos. Plus it gives people a reason to check out the website - I think the only flaw in this is that they don't point out anywhere on the toy packaging that bios are availalble online.

Yeah know it would of been really cool, if for the toys that didn't have bio readings on the box/card. Hasbro should of made some that where precut and given in stacks out to say Toys"R"us, KB, etc. That you can get free when you buy a TF item our something.

It would of added an EXTRA item to each tf toy to get.

no character bios maybe because no one made an effort to think about the character behaviour and abilities

Now that they're required to print the packages in Trilingual format, there's simply no room for them to include the Techs and Bios like they used to.

Required? That is new to me. I any case its a bad thing because that what make Transformers different from other robots - that and the beautiful battle posters on the packages' back.

At least we're getting Tech cards with the deluxe and larger Energon figures, and bios you can look up on www. transformers.com.

The only bad thing about having the bios on transformers.com (besides teh fact that there are many TransFans that don't have Internet access, is that the bios last until the new line rolls in. :tfsad

Maybe I am too demanding but why no print the bios on the instructions sheet? With the exception of Unicron's, the instructions of all the TF's I own have the back side blank, so why not?

I don't think they're required to do it, and do it for a time/money saving measure so they can sell the same thing in three countries without having to produce packaging for three separate ountries.

If they were required to, then so would all toy makers be required. So far Hasbro's the only one en Fracais and en Espanol that I see.

Well, actually, in New Zealand there isn't. The last cartoon we had was Armada. And let's face it, some of the characters never appear in the cartoons.

I admit I like the personality that bios lend, but the quotes in these new bios suck. We've gone from "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings!" to "Those who threaten peace will fall in pieces!". At least the bio parts themselves are still fairly well done.

Actually, my E-Megs came with one. And almost all do, accept for the $6 figs.
