I love most any incarnation of OP. I just don't think it would be the same without him.

maybe they could start out a series without him, but have one of the other bots get reformatted into him a la rodimus prime...

If you don't like it don't see it.

Aaaaaand your mom.

I think that covers everything.

seriously, by most people's difinitions, G1 is any series which has characters named Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream. the G1 fans just can't seem to distinguish between a real G1 character and a new character that is a homage to them. by that logic, the statue in the Lincoln Memorial is not a statue but Abe Lincoln himself.

You're an idiot Starscream!

HEHE. Loki's my new buddy. :tflaugh

Why is it so wrong to not want Transformers to be giant endoskeletons?

It's not. This just doesn't appear to be a movie about Transformers as we have known them. It appears that this will be a new story of sorts. Not everyone will like it. I can only suggest that people need to give it a chance before bashing the hell out of it. It may actually end up being good, EVEN IF IT IS DIFFERENT. *shrug*

Well, the Transformers better be glad that Kyle Reese isn't in this movie.

I just wonder that when and if they make sequels, they will start to go back to having the Transformers look more like we are used to. Of course, this could be the "new" norm.

I wonder how much work this has been for Hasbro, making Transformers with so much detail.

Good point. Also, I was making a guess that the toys were made AFTER the movie characters were created. Usually, the show is made from the toys. I'll bet that is a big change for them too, if that is the case. Of course, that's mere speculation on my part.
