How many flaws are you finding...

Alt Prime-3 or 4 shades of red, More finger prints & Scratches than my KO Megatron and a significant gouge on driver side door. Are the alts assembled on a concrete floor & moved on wire mesh racks? What is the point of keeping a fig MISB if he look like shiet from the factory? I guess he is road damaged Prime!

My BTA alert had most of the common issues.

Both Blue and Alt Prowl have loose shoulders.

now i tthink about it my alt smokescreen has alignment issues with his hood in both modes as it doesn't lie even on both sides

Smokescreen/Sideswipe/Silverstreak/Hound/Dead End/Tracks/Meister/Swindle/Grimlock/Windcharger/Ravage/Shockblast/Wheeljack: No problems

Decepticharge: I can't seem to get the hard top to fit on him

Swerve: The red plastic looks REAL cheap, but that's about it...

Prowl: Floppy ankles

Skids/Sunstreaker: Some of my most solidly made Alts

Rollbar/Ricochet: No problems, and no comments.

Optimus Prime: Got 2 left hands (good thing I had 2 other ones coming in off eBay)

Mirage: loose joints all over, and the glue that holds the seats down seeped into the hinges for the floor/belly panels. The lower part of the hinges snapped the first time I transformed him.

Nemesis Prime: REALLY loose knees, but no other problems.

sounds like i had better be carefull if i get alt mirage

The only problems I've noticed about the new Binaltechs is that they have these weird little blobs of plastic that come with them now...

My Wheeljack has connecting issues with his torso piece hooking into the chest. I guess the little hook nobs that slide into that chrome piece have degraded with the new mold, so I have to be careful on how I pick him up, or his whole chest becomes un-hinged.

This is really the only real annoying flaw that I have on all of my alternators. Anyone else have this problem?

My Alt. Nemesis, Op. Prime and Jazz arrived today, thanks Siburke939, and I found the flaws quickly. The flaws that have been mentioned for Jazz appeared quickly when his right arm popped off during transformation. With Prime and Nem, their hips, knees and heads are very loose, especially the heads. Their hands pop out of the sockets as well and Prime's terring column has problems lining up when he's back in his vehicle mode.

It's a shame that such a nice line has so many flaws. Whoever's in charge of the Quality Control department isn't doing a very good job, they aren't very safe if the collector/general buyer has young children and parts are falling off. It's a distaster just waiting to happen.

-Alt. Nem's motto should be 'Here comes the pain!'

You know, I've been thinking... I'm usually the one pooh-poohing the "alts are dying" crowd, but lately...

Skids comes out, Prime and Mirage are announced. (not sure of the exact order, but they were around the same time, within a few months). Skids is generally well received, fans go apeBlot over the Mirage protos, Prime teaser pics get "mixed reviews." :tflaugh

Skids came out 8 months ago. By number NP would be the newest. Observe:

Contrast that to Smokescreen through Skids:

Pretty divisive, but nothing conclusive in and of itself. Now add in the widely reported QC problems since January (the point of this thread). Now factor in the upcoming movie line, and Hasbro's desire to concentrate on that. The supposed next new Alt (Rumble) has no target release date known, but the earliest it could be out would be late this year/early next year... right about the time that Hasbro has said they would be shoeboxing everything else for the movie toys.

Now, we may get alt-style toys for the movie. Hasbro may be shooting straight with us, and once the movie bombs is over with the brand will be diversified again, and the alt line might be resumed. BUT... it certainly looks to me like January-present was filler to get to Prime and Mirage, who probably had too much vested in development to can outright.

Then again this could all be my inner conspiracy theorist coming out to play. depressed.gif

Interesting post, but it would be a lot more interesting if yoiu included the charachters (or atleast the vehicles) next to the mold info, but anyway... How do you figure camshaft is a straight repaint?
