Welcome Lupus!

It seems that there is a BT*/Kiss version of Rodimus coming out in October.

He will be a Mirage (ford GT) Repaint.

But we have only seen proposed line art for it (and maybe a digi-bash)

and just in case you are unfamiliar with some of the lingo.

BT = Japanese DicastMetal versions of Alternators

BT*(astrisk) are kinda like special editions which include anime sidekicks.

(usually young girls with names from the various TF continuities - and some of them have been a little, um, suggestive)

And then the BT* Kiss - same as BT* but specifically tied to a radio promotional that involves underage girls kissing cars to save the world.

(i dont know what that means - but it also kinda furthers the whole creepy pedophelia thing...)

Anyway - check out in NEWS/ROUMORS for the thread with pics and stuff.

I'm ready for Rumble. A new mold would be great. And he's a Decepticon! I need more Cons in my collection...

Hopefully the pile drivers are interchangable or I've got a serious mod coming my way when I buy him...

Nice head mold but the gey-ass baby blue has GOT TO GO! Stick with red, black and yellow (gold)...

Now if I could only get a Nemesis Prime for under $25 bucks... Hmmm

It makes no (zero, nil) sense for nemesis prime to be the last release of the year unless they are cancelling the line. You don't put the line on haitus for the X-mass season. 70-80% of toys are bought for X-mass.

Let's review what happened last holiday season.

WalMart: essentially didn't carry Alts at all, they basically quit restocking them until the bubble boxes first materilized (which I think was maybe a week or so before X-mas).

Target: predominantly put out cases of the Windcharger, Shockwave, Wheeljack, Decepticharge assortment (which originally materialized around late July)

TRU: put out the Windcharger, Shockwave, Wheeljack, Decepticharge and the 2xGrimlock, Swindle and Swerve assortment.

So while the majority of toy sales might be around the holidays, last year most of the Alts available for the bulk of the holiday season were of case assortments that originally shipped over the summer. So get used to seeing Prime, Mirage, Meister and Camshaft :tflaugh . (Although, we might get Rumble in late December if we're lucky and they don't decide to delay him until after the movie.)

As much as I also don't like it having the alt line end pematurely almost makes sense.

Two words. Movie alts. :clap

Well, that Decepticon Mustang will undoubtedly be a Grimlock repaint. :tflaugh

I'm hoping for a Camaro Bumblebee at least.

Nemeis Prime was said to be the capper (last release) for the year. Referencing it being for sale at SDCC in very limited quantities.

...

It was stated that the Alternators for the rest of the year are being show at SDCC and BotCon. There are a few more releases that that will released spring of 2007.

...

Come spring of 2007, Hasbro will be "sort of stopping some stuff" to work on the movie line. However a lot of the past lines will come back after they finish work on the movie line.

Given what's been said above, plus the yearly angst over the line "dying," I'd have to say that we'll get Rumble early next year, or hell, even by Xmas. The thought had crossed my mind that the panelist let something slip unintentionally re NP, possibly meaning that he would be released later to the general public. This would seem to leave room for Hasbro's previous claim of "X new molds, Y repaints." (don't remember the original claim, anyone know it we hit that yet?) But I'm not exactly optimistic about NP. :redface Anyway, a dearth of new Alts in the fall is nothing new. Also, one of the main themes of the SDCC panel was that everything else is going to be pushed aside in order to promote the movie. I'm guessing that "past lines" returning afterwards would mean Classics, Titanium, SWTF, and yes, Alts. At the very least they still have Rumble and his repaints to be released. I doubt they're going to drop the GT and xB molds after one release, either. Probably also 3rd mold releases of the RX8, Mustang, S2000, Acura, and Ram. So even if it's nothing else but Rumble and a Blotload of lazy-ass repaints, I think we'll be getting more Alts... sometime. :redface

At SDCC Hasbro said both that Nemesis Prime was the last release of this year, and that new alternator figures would be shown at SDCC (none) and Botcon.

So I'm really hoping that there will be some shown at Botcon.

But yeah, Rumble will probably be next year, IF the line continues. And like Sertile, I'm feeling a bit pessimistic.

This is not totally true. when they say this year they are stretching. Spring toys start shipping before the beginning of the next year. It's only August. There is no way they wont have something new out for the next 5 months.

They said 6 new molds and 4 repaints. So far we have 4 repaints (3 if you consider Camshaft a remold) 3 new molds if you include Skids as a 2006 release (4 if you consider Cammy a new mold)

It won't suprise me if Hasbro calculates their 6 new/4 repaint number to address what has been released to date in the bubble packaging.

Prowl = new

Skids = new

Tracks = new

Meister = new

Optimus = new

Mirage = new

Rollbar = repaint

Ricochet = repaint

Camshaft = repaint

Nemesis Prime = repaint

When the 6/4 number came up I don't recall Hasbro ever saying anything about re-releasing Tracks and Meister; and technically, they're the first use of those molds and not repaints.
