Wow...all the support for the Shortround Mold comes as a suprise to me

Recommended Posts

I've seen shortround alot in stores, but never picked him up. I love his hovercraft alt mode, reminds me alot of...wow...um...that other little geewun hovercraft guy. Anyway, though, I've always been turned off by his bot mode. Those arms are just weird. It was also really hard for me to see how articulated he was. Can someone give me a rundown of the mold? I'm a sucker for a good basic, so if he's better than I thought, I'll pick him up at Target when I go to get Primus.

What basic-sized (Scout) Cybertron molds do you have so far?

(Seaspray BTW!)

I've seen him a few times. His boat mode looks really cool but the robot mode reminds me why I shouldn't buy him.

I've seen a good bit where I live too, but everyone wants bigger bots, myself included. I got him when I first saw him but damn is he a great mold.

He's a great little guy once you get past the claw hands. Decent articulation, and I personally love the colors on him. Makes him fit in with the G1 Pirancon colors.

SEASPRAY, THATS IT. Okay, I have...Armorhide (possibly faveorite mold of all time, definantly fave basic, Ransack GTS, Brakedown or whatever hes called, Hardtop, Brushguard (ugh!)...let me go look at the rest...repugnus, swerve, and scrapmetal.

I kinda like claw hands, like old decepticon tread arms, but they just didn't seem to fit him. But oh well, now I'm overcome with a lust to buy him. I'll get him when I get Primus.

These are the Cybertron Scouts I've got. In order, fave top & worst bottom:

1st) Swindle

2nd) Armorhide

3rd) Wreckloose

4th) Undermine

5th) Ransack

6th) Lugnutz

7th) Brakedown

8th) Scattorshot

9th) Swerve

10th) Shortround

11th) Backstop

12th) Scrapmetal

13th) Overhaul

14th) Brushguard

15th) Hardtop

16th) Clocker

That's just my opinion though and everybody's taste differs, but hopefully it helps! :thumb

I haven't played with all of them, but this looks pretty similar to my tastes. I'd rank Hardtop Higher, because even though I do like the Swindle Repaint better, I didn't buy it, and so far, Hardtop's classic decepticon colors have really grown on me. Scrapmetal ranks a bit higherbut only when I have him, laserbeak, and energon ravage paired up with soundwave. However, Wreckloose? Eh? I don't know but he just reminds me of one of those non show beatwars guys...like they didn't put alot of thought into him. And Backstop looks too much like a McDonalds transformer, no matter how much I love his tiny rhino form.

I think I rated Clocker, Hardtop, Brushguard & Scrapmetal so low because I have the repaints (Swerve, Swindle, Overhaul & Coby Ramble) and I've made direct comparisons. I like the molds (except Overhaul/Brushguard) but the new paint-jobs make them so much better! (Swindle especially, he ROCKS!)

I haven't got Soundwave yet (soon hopefully) so I'd probably bump Scrapmetal up a few spots if I did.

I do like the "beasty" TF's in Cybertron alot. They're nothing special as such & I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's just something about 'em!
