The Power Rangers-ization of the Transformers

Recommended Posts

In the same way that Power Rangers starts over every year with a new cast etc, but the same setup and basic plot.

yeah, but it's always been like that in Japan since Goranger in the 70's. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was just dragged out longer here in America do to it's growing popularity, then they started changing each season with Zeo. more info

hmm... ok. I see what your saying.

With power rangers, though, it's the same continuity.

Beast wars and beast machines is supposed to be the same continuity as G1. RID was it's own little world. Armad was yet another new universe, and energon continues that story.

I wonder if they create another alternate universe, or continue with the one started in armada.

Well lets hope Transformers hav'nt become like Power ragers

(the second Megazord was a Preadaking rip off)

which Megazord would that be?

last years one, um, wild force

that was in 2002, not last year. But moving on, which Megazord from that series are you talking about: Wild Force Megazord, Predazord, or Isis Megazord?

I don't really know, I just happend to see it in Toys'R'us while I was looking for Unicron

Wha??? That's all supposed to be ONE continuity??? And I thought the TF continuity had holes.

:wtf ok...then what makes you say it was a predaking rip-off?

it'd be a good idea if they did, wasn't there that rumor about a show called Transformers: Cybertron that's supposed to air next year?

Current rumors are that Cybertron will continue the Universe started in Armada. After which point, it is anyone's guess. I personally think that after the next series, they should do another reboot, simply to snag the next group of kids that will support the line.

Consider a 7 year old that got hooked on Armada in 2002, after Cybertron's finished (around the end of 2006/beginning of 2007), your 7 year old will be about 11-12, the stage at which they are most likely to "grow out of" toys. Rebooting a new Universe will give the next set of kids their own series and keep them interested without the baggage attached to a line that has been going for 4 plus years (like Power Rangers had by Zeo)

Power Rangers dumped the much continuity deal by about the "In Space" series, and fully diverged with Lost Galaxy. So PR has been going for 4 odd years of having no inherit connection with the previous series.

sorry, but it's all the same continuity in Power Rangers. But this conversation is getting off topic, but it you wanna talk more about this, head over to the Power Rangers thread.
