Arcee More than One !

Recommended Posts

Can we merge this thread and some of the other threads about her like the Tortle's review WITH the existing Arcee discussion thread? There are so many thread about her it is starting to clutter. Thank you.

I can completely relate JunkersHVN, I too practice the anti-hiding of TFs. Every time I go to a store while I am searching for TF, I reorganize everything the way they are suppose to be, pick up the misplaced ones, and even reshelf the hidden ones. I find it easier and much more pleasant to view TF displays that way and it actually takes very little time to do all of this! Moreover, it is simply inconsiderate when people hide them to potentially buy them later.

As for hiding TFs honestly, IMO you should have just paid for then and there or had them hold if it was at Walmart. If you cannot pay for them, it is quite dishonest and unfair to others when you hide them. It does not matter if you are buying it to give away to homeless people or to help out your friends, you were still hiding them. You DO realize doing so only -reduces- the opportunity for everyone else also looking for them. Do you think it is fair and considerate?

More importantly it is not the same as if you found x number of a specific highly desired TF and purchased them all immediately. While some might label you a hoarded at least you paid for them and you did not hide them. Whoever came latter simply missed out b/c they were not a early/diligent shopper. No your situation is IMO worse and highly inconsiderate b/c you bought only one and hid the rest to come back to at your leisure. Yes, it is true there is always going to be plenty of demand, but by hiding them you are only compounding an already difficult situation. Even though you might not see it this way, you must remember, TF are targeted for children and when people hide TF you are taking away a chance that another child can purchase and enjoy that TF. Don’t you think they also should have an EQUAL opportunity to find a sought after TF or toy?

another potential problem with toy hiding (or any other type of product, for that matter) is that it messes up stocking and demand records for the store. When an item is sold, the store inventory record shows that and another is ordered if it is still in production. Most major stores keep track of supply and demand in their computers using this data. When you hide an item that is in limited quantity, they can't see this. Thus all they see is that there is an overstock if more of that item were ordered and arrived since it was hidden or that the item is not moving at all. At that point, they figure it's not popular and reduce what they order later.

Now lets put this model into effect and see what happens. Wmart gets one arcee toy in, you find it the day they put it out and hide it, planning to pick it up when you get your paycheck in a week. Wmart gets another arcee in and someone else hides it for a day or two. Their computer shows that the toy isn't moving at that store so the stock gets sent to another store where the stock appears to be moving because they all get sold the day they're put out. Then someone finds the toys that were hidden before you can get them and puts them back out, where some kid's parent grabs it because it looks "interesting" and more importantly is in the right price range. That parent gives it to the kid who then pitches it off in the corner after a couple of hours because he didn't care for the toy. Meanwhile, you get to keep going back to the store looking for another restock that either takes forever or never happens because that company decided that they would send the stock to a store where it sold better.

That is completely true! Hiding toys not just TFs negatively impacts the inventory system for any given store. I accept if I want any in demand toy I have to hunt for it diligently. But when stores do not carry it b/c they mistakenly think the toys are not moving and/or overstocked, that as I mentioned previously -only- adds to the problem for everyone.

Nobody buys tfs here. I hide the ones I want because tru takes all the toys who aren't selling and replaces them with laserbeaks. No kids in birmingham have Tf's and the ones who do break them instantly.I don't hurt anyone. i only hide ONE of each. Hiding all of one type of tf is shameful.

i can understand what you're saying. but a figure like arcee, which at this point is limited in the numbers per case, is not alone going to have a great impact on the system. there are what, a dozen or so figures per case, and most are not rare and those still have to sell. the sale of the one or two rare ones per case will not alone be enough to trigger the reorder.

the issue here becomes a store maintanance issue more than anything. if the workers do their jobs anything hidden should be found and put back in the correct spots. it doesn't have to be someone hiding a toy, it could fall, little kids scatter them around and they also get stolen. computers can't compensate for that, thats where the employees have to keep their heads up.

inventory is not all ordered by computers, department heads doing their jobs can also order them manually when the numbers are low and none are coming in, or if they need to order more for upcoming sales.

That is all true, but none of that changes the fact hiding toys, especially hard to find ones like Arcee is inconsiderate, unfair to others and overall a bad thing to do. If you cannot buy it then and there, it is your loss. Do not stoop to hiding things because you do not have the monies to actually purchase it. :stone
