could "Classics" be acting as a buffer for

Recommended Posts

I just figured it was obvious or something like that

It really wouldn't be the first time a company has used a transitional line to introduce elements of the next line in order to create a sort of familiarity, as people like the familiar.

It's not just toys; they want our money and they'll go through much more than you'd think to ensure they get it.

I'm gonna have to see the "Classics" lihne in person. They look okay in pix but it's not enough to get me going. They do look "Playskoolish" with their paint schemes and Nerf Megatron puts the brakes on big time. Even Prime slows the roll down. Bumblebee and Starscream arethe only ones that impress me at this point.

As far as filler goes, it's probably true. It's a small line like Machine Wars but but it's new to tide us over until the movies toys come out.

You're not interested in astrotrain?  The idea of a triple changer that looks decent in all three modes makes me warm inside.

Urine warm?

Like Brawn said, "I reserve judgement." That is until I see them in person. I loved the test shots of him and went bananas. I'm interested to see how Hot Rod will turn out though.

Some one else put it better when they said Classic is a STFU FANs!! Line. I think it's a brilliant steady money flowing TF buffer till the movie comes out.

I think there will be quite a few cameos by TF characters that we've grown to love and they will make up some of the toyline as well

kids are pretty used to there being toys of tf's that don't appear in the cartoons so maybe Hasbro might make some "non-show" characters for the movie, providing that the toyline is popular enough.

Example: I dunno is you've ever collected Star Wars toys, but with them you have the main characters, then you have the Plo Koons and the Neimodian Commanders that were only in the movie for a fraction of a second

That's what I think Hasbro will do with this movie line as well, but then again I'm hoping that they don't put action features into 'em like with almost all the Ep3 toys

Hey, I'm not complaining, I'm just saying it's never a simple as designing a few toys and knocking 'em out with little thought.

Truth'd

I think this is being looked at from the wrong direction.

the Classics line is not Filler - the Filler line is classic.

Meaning - they have to have some simple mini line to bridge the gap between Cybertron and the movie - by using a Classics line they bring in whatever is left of the Cybertron Fans, AND the die hard OLDER collectors - with out having to produce any official media to support it.

Much like the Alternators started out as a Classics line.  They did that cuase the Nostalgia of CLASSICS is part of the sales pitch.
