Injector Custom Repaint

Recommended Posts

Wow. I hate you, Chiggy. Not for doing an awesome repaint..but for now making me want a toy I had no interest in owning before.  :redface

The idea to repaint Injector as Starscream is quite random...but it's really strange how it works so well.  I also like the made of clay look the paint/photos makes it seem to have. Great work! :thumb

That ceramic-type look is due to the base coat of Testors Flat Light Aircraft Gray spraypaint...one of my all-time favorite colors.

And I considered detailing the wings but decided it'd detract from the smooth look the original Starscream has on his wings, so I thought I'd let the mold's own texture speak for itself.

Putting different colors on Injector made me like the mold a little better...but only a little, as a toy he still sucks :P

He looks slightly less hideous than normal. Good job! Didn't think that could happen.

the background reminds me of when I was a kid looking through the Sears Christmas Wish Book.

Very original idea, great looking paint job.  :thumb

Strangely, I like that quite a bit.  Could use some more of the beast mode details such as the butt stripes or the bumps on the head brought out with paint details though.  While you got the color scheme down, he doesn't scream "dangerous animal" like a lionfish or hornet should.

Can't believe you actually made this fig look neat.  The name Starscream fits due to the huge mouth.  May not make a good version of the G1 personality, but would make like some alternate universe type.

is this a mold from beast wars neo?

No, it's a figure from Beast Wars (the Fuzors subgroup) that was repainted and used in the Beast Wars Neo cartoon later.

that's a nice repaint.  I'd buy it. :)

:pfx

a bizzare but interesting choice.
