Take this for example.  This here is a kinda cleaverly redone MP 1 fake.  They kinda eliminated several steps in the transform, and made it work OK.  Quality of the plastic and all aint all that, but I think they tried to make something that would appeal to fans.  They even threw in a DVD of a japanese TF episode (doesn't appear it works on PC's in the US, with out some kind of converter player).  its even got a little Megatron, which the robot could not possibly hold, the Axe and his gun.  Also a trailer, which MP1 did not come with, cept the cardboard "Fold and Play" one.  Take the top off, and there's even a sort of pod mount in the back.  It might have been prelude to a mini knockoff of the original G1 trailer...shame they didn't follow through with that.

All the newer variant Alternator cars I'd LOVE to have, but they arn't available in the states at a decent enough price yet for me.

So, are the boot legger producers trying to appeal to fans more?  Is this something that says something like "Get these variants, or you won't have the ULTIMATE complete collection?"

they dont belong into collections!!!!

they are fake and if you cant afford real  transformer pick up another hobby. sorry but the bootlegs are upsetting me more and more. because they are not transformers! they hurt takara/hasbro which at the end hurts the fans like me. stop supporting the bootlegs people!

Hey, if it looks like a real Transformer, smells like a real Transformer, packaged to look like a real Transformer, and transforms like a real Transformer, guess what?  It's a Transformer.

I'm not gonna buy those crappy knockoffs, I want the ones that are packaged and look like the real deal.  I'm buying memories here, and at the cheap prices some are going for, I'm there!!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I have no problems with a knockoff as long as I know it's a knockoff and the seller says it's a knockoff.  I don't think that hurts the value of the real ones at all, just gives me another choice :tfgrin

Do you work for RIAA or MPAA?

I think we have all heard your bibl..I mean tranformer thumping loud and clear.

BTW, Backfire, there is also a blue version of that Prime on ebay too.

he if fun to play with then im gonna play...

I've no problem with KOs. If you can't afford the original, and the knock off is at least 75% the quality, they make an excellent substitution.

Why quibble?

alot of the time people buy kos because hasbro doesent make that certain one.  i just got a 8in robotmaster prime. hasbro doesent make it and neither does takara in that scale. its not always a bad thing.

how much you wanna bet with theyre not being a takara release that we see classics line bootleggs from hongkong soon?

You have to be insane to pay for the overinflated prices for the Optimus Primes they have online. For the most part, the only thing that is good about KOs is that it makes things affordable to the kids/parents that wants to get a certain character hoarded by "fans" and opportunists.
