i renember the actions for the G2 protectobots and stunticons each toy went for a few grand but im sure the seller sead he would hold onto the hotspot

Hardtop is a dork too.

HARDTOP

Hardtop is a Cybertronian Comic Book collector! If you were to go into his room in the Decepticon home base, you'd find thousands of comic books from all over the galaxy!! From 3-D ones to ones made of leaves - he just loves them! If he's not blasting Autobots on the battlefield, he's racing around the universe looking for the missing issue of the Galactic Guardians.

Xamot: yeah, but those toys were never sold to retail markets. Only G2 Breakdown has ever been sold as a BotCon exclusive. So other than G2 Breakdown, for the G2 Protectobots and Stunticons effectively don't exist (prototypes don't really count). Unless you're suggesting that Shortround owns those "prototypes"... which would make him an extremely huge dork. :P  (prototypes don't hold much relative intrinsic value) -- god they're ugly.

The limbs at least all made it to the packaged sample stage, as the Hartman auctions can attest to.  So that's a little further than just prototypes.

Yeah I know, that's why I had "prototypes" in quotation marks.

That's pretty damn good considering that G2 Defensor and Menasor don't exist!

Don't exist ??  Or Effectively don't exist??

Which is it??

Why don't you send  Jon Hartman a message and tell him the toys he just sold effecively don't exist?

(prototypes don't hold much relative intrinsic value) --

Nothing has any intrinsic value.  The value is decided when the seller and buyer agree upon a price.

You HAVE seen the prices some TF Protos go for right??

It's entirely possible that the protos of  Hot Spot and Motormaster were sold to someone for money at some point.

It is also possible they were fully functional toys. Not just protos.  If the smaller team members made it to packaged examples, it's possible  they did make functioning examples of Motormaster and Hot Spot.

Calm down there, fan-boy.

Nothing has any intrinsic value.

You hear that? That's the sound of an angry mob of macro-economists heading toward you know. They gonna get all fiscal on your ass. :D

There are purportedly a few packaged samples that did not get destroyed. I don't know if the Hartman's were able to get ahold of them or not, but I know Tony Prato (sp?) was trying desperately to get his hands on the sets. Hell, I might still have the newsletter he put out with the article about them! :tflaugh

Anyone got a link handy for the recent ebay auction? :tfgrin

Edit: Okay, I JUST read the post about the Hartman auction... :redface
