MIB Fake Cyclonus on Ebay

Recommended Posts

Hmmm maybe the gun positioning is indeed a package variation. The thing that sucks is now that these weird things are all over the place, we can't find older pics that we KNOW are legit. I might have to dig around some of my old CDs at home I have TF pics on. But I am thinking that TRU sticker is a pretty good sign it is legit.

You can buy old Toys R Us pricing guns on Ebay, even with stickers!!  So no, that doesn't mean it is real just by a sticker on it.

The plot THICKENS!!

Maybe he's right and we should just accept the fact that we may truly NEVER know.  I do know though that China is releasing more Knockoffs everyday, Ebay seller duocons told me he was getting a new shipment of knockoffs soon and will be listing them on Ebay.  At least this seller is not trying to rip us off and profit from claiming they are originals.

Oh well, it has been interesting to say the least.

Chinese versions are missing typo at the back of the card/box.  It´s always missing the following:Made and printed in Japan, Manufactured By Takara Co. Tokyo.  This is 100% bullet proof. Despite what any seller may tell you ,if it's missing typo, it is a Chinese version. Another thing to check is the factory tapes, they are different like twice or three times wider. I strongly suggest you guys to take a look at the item 6063807675.

If in doubt, dont ;)

good job I dont like cyclonus ;)

The box says "Hasbro", it also says "Ages: 6 & up" on it.

I will be be buying one of these for my 6 year old child. Should my child fall ill due to unsafe materials used in the probuction of this toy, or choke on a small part if it breaks, I will be using your last reply as evidence in a case against your company.

I never thought about that, GREAT IDEA!!  China is NOTORIOUS for creating toys with very high levels of LEAD in the materials.  What if these were in those knockoff toys??

Good point!!

Er, do you have any reliable information/reference to back that up (other than blog pages?) If what you say is true, then you should get rid of all the Transformers you have that was made since the 1990s.

I'm referring to rogue bootleggers using inferior materials, not from factories licensed and inspected by Hasbro :roll

Hasbro themselves use lower quality materials for different markets, for example there was a recall of mexican transformers that had been imported into the UK years ago due to the high levels of lead in the paint. Clearly china, land of poison (which it is as all of our equipment that no longer meets environmental standards is packed up and shipped to china, for example R12 gas producers for air conditioning which no longer used in the west but is still causing as much polution as it ever did in china) wouldnt give a stuff about lead levels in, how shall we say, unauthorised production runs.

(I think) IGA themselves made those, but your point is still valid. When Hasbro licensed out TFs to some markets, the toys that resulted were oftern not of the quality a produce made specifically for Hasbro would be.

IIRC After Joel Bobbit opened a Chinese issued Cyclonus, some differences in quality were very obvious.

That said, I've *heard* that the quality on the bootleg casettes is pretty good.(?)
