OMFGWTFSTFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's a second auction on ebay to and the price there is way past the $400 mark

here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/TRANSFORMERS-CLASSIC-H...1QQcmdZViewItem

HA HA!! I KNEW IT!!

check out the eyes on the unpainted proto. LIGHT PIPING W00T!!! :clap

Sweet.

also looks like he's got another gun that flips out under his left forarm along with the sidepipe guns & missle launcher...

But if the cockpit is clear plastic, hows come even Hasbro's "official" pictured figure had it completely painted over?  Seems kinda weird.

it's clear on the proto and translucent blue on the real thing :thumb

hence the clear eyes on the proto

^

Okay now I am officially excited about this figure.

Light piping is awsome. IMO should be done with every TF. :clap

I was never really a Hot Rod fan. Disliked Rodimus more, but this guy is pretty killer. :thumb

i don't understand why people have to Starscream about every single mold they make.

this one looks to kick arse

As I said in TF:TD:

The altmode looks really good. Really a more modernized version of the very futuristic G1 Hotrod. Cool altmode :thumb

The robot is also very reminiscent of G1 Hotrod. Including being a brick. From the looks of it, this figure has a very limited posability. The upper arms seem to have little lateral movement -- if any. The way the upper arms extend beyond the shoulders already limits movement, but in combination with the backparts, this means he probably won't be able to move his upperarms sideways for more than a few degrees. Maybe the lower arms make up for this, but I can't tell. I seriously doubt he'll be able to point a gun to a target on his side.

I'm still stupified by his upper legs. First of all they seem to be connected to his pelvis in a very strange manner: not sideways to the crotch like most TF have, but the connection seems to be on top of the leg. I'm also wondering about those red (car)parts attached to the side of his upper legs. That can't be good for movement and it kind of results in the same trouble Alt Prime has: from the side it's a partial car standing up.

Kudo's to Hasbro for trying, but I think I'll pass and admire Excillion (as soon as I've got him).

in the TFClub preview pic of Rodimus, it shows that the car parts attached to the thighs, can flip out to the sides.

Yup. I'd really like to see a picture of this guy properly transformed... and displaying his articulation.

Yeah, just looking at comparison pics, the thighs/doors appear to be moveable somewhere and gut instinct says the engine block flips around, but my gut could be wrong.
