After years, YEARS, of wanting to see one of these up close, I finally got ahold of one and have written up a review of the toy and added it to the website:

Anyone who knows anything about Joustra preTFs knows how special this piece was going to be, and it didn't disappoint.

 

The article has lots of background information and tonnes of contributions and Mirage-related images, some pretty spectacular.

 

No Paul Vromen artwork on the article just yet, but there will be in the near future and I will post to update on any uploaded artwork.

Man........I have lost alot of interest in collecting G1 figs but I'd be overjoyed to own a minty fresh vintage or reissued Mirage.

I never knew there was a red one.

 

Something to add to my hunting list then.

Really makes me wish Takara would take the effort to recreate the mold, because this is one G1 figure I wouldn't mind owning a pristine version of. The Mirage I got back then (probably a MB version) got severely damaged through play, because he was one of my first TF's. But I remember that when I unpacked him in early 85 I really loved the figure.

 

(Would also love to own a red one, since it's also very beautiful. Ah, if only...)

What's up with the LIGER sides (or what ever) being a sticker? 

 

I'm pretty sure the 2 I had were painted.
