Okay, first they Starscream about TFCC not doing anything cool/worth it to join. Then get this... they start Starscreaming that the Classics line(AKA Transformers: STFU) preview images are for members only :roll (which will probably start a series of things to Starscream about that're members-only).

I for one fail to see the logic here. Granted, most of the images are public now, but the trend continued with Neo Bumblebee. So what gives? Is it just an excuse to Starscream about something? Prejudice aginst Hasbro?? Or did something crawl up their collective asses and die???

ok, the cheapest route is $40 a year...

for that you get 12 issues of classified ads, 6 "newsletters", and a repainted toy... hmm oh yea you can also buy stuff from the store at *gasp* retail price.

so.... if all that isn't worth joining, 6 jpgs certainly isn't worth it either.

it's all fine and dandy if you got 40 a month to blow and your into that kinda thing, but for me to pay $40 a month, it's gonna take alot more stuff.  i mean yay they're trying, give 'em a cookie, but it's just not worth it imo

p.s.  attempting to keep digital images of toys (esp highly anticipated toys) exclusive on the internet is just retarded imo.  i also see that this even has pointed out a security flaw and they've fixed it... they should be greatfull  :tflaugh

p.p.s. exclusivity blows

Wait! $40 a month?!? :wtf Dude, it's $40 a year. For all that stuff you listed, it's not that bad. Especially when you consider that you'd end up paying the $40 extra to get the Convention exclusive set if you want it. It's the extra money to get the newsletter and such early that I would have a problem with. Of course, I can't quite Starscream, because I'm paying it. :P

i just dont see it as value for money

if you live out side the US you get stiffed for shipping now they tryed to fix it not long ago but its still insanly high and since the toys are all made in china i dont know why they have to be sent via the US

as for the images they were public by the end of the day aswell as 2 extra pics showing megs and the day after that the mystery toy was leaked so members only pics seem to be a waste of time

now as for exclusive toys they realy let us down by not living up to thier word when they told us they were going to remolded parts as well as repaint them rather we got some transparent red white and blue repaints now thats all fine and dandy but given the price involed in getting them its just not worth it. The box sets are a cool idea but going by last year to get the full set plus the box and pin costs an insane amount now granted they were limited edition but that only goes so far IMO. now IMO if they just sold transparent veriants at a lower price with no remolding idd be happy. Also maybe the toys are simply to big IMO some cheaper basic toys would be a far nicer deal and easyer to get for us averige joes maybe X-dimention stlye minicon repaints i know idd buy any new minicon set (so long as they not to WTF)

oh and the club store is just a waste of money IMO get rid of all the items that arnt club exclusives or just stock the rarer items at a lower then RRP even if its only 5% it would be cool

I am still PO'ed about the promised exclusive PVC Skywarp from the PRIOR TF club I joined.

So yeah, I think I will wait until I see that this club is actually sticking around, and the exclusives are actually worth buying before I drop money again KTHX.

Considering the Club only had a few days of exclusivity for most of the pics, this isn't a benefit for members.  Yes, they have exclusive rights to the Bumblebee pics since Hasbro hasn't put those pics on their site yet (afaik).

What else has the Club done?  I didn't renew my subscription because I didn't see much happening.  I got all my newsletters and the free toy.  Not much else came about after they were constantly saying they have a lot of plans.  Maybe things are happening now, but I haven't seen the worthiness of being a Club member.  Once they start making some nice things for members, I may change my mind.  But right now, they seem to think we're GI Joe fans, when WE'RE NOT.

If they did think you were Joe fans, you would be paying $36 a year and get a more substantial free toy.  Now, it is impossible to make a new Transformer toy out of existing molds.  All they can really do is repaint a past toy.  The free Joe figures, on the other hand, are quite nice and worth joining.

It seems to me that Hasbro should be taking a more active interest ('specially gearing up for the movie) in making this club work well. Rather we keep hearing this sob story about how hard it is to organize the club and to get these figures and only certain molds like Buzzclaw are available .

whether you belive MC's claims or not - it looks bad on hasbro.

Reread his post. Bolded portion especially.

Maybe you should too... (peels off the PWN, slaps it on his shirt)

yeah - it looks like Buddykiller stated the $40/year and then used $40/month in his examples - probably being a bit meladramatic

There was some big drama story behind that.

Something about 2000 units, botcon, money and stuff.

roflmfao
