The only problem with that digibash is that it is insanely hard to recolor transparent parts and keep them transparent. ;-)

 

That said, the Master Galvatron paint scheme does fit him really damned well.

maybe that's b/c Master Galvatron's color scheme was an homage to G1 Megatron

I really do like the figure, and while I understand why the colors have to be how they are for US saftey standards, etc, that's not going to stop me from repainting mine to look better.  So.. here's my plan, quick digi-bash.

Ah well, I can live fine with Cybertron Megatron's skittles flavour scheme I can definitely deal with this. Also if the sides to remove easily I have no problem posing him without. Hopefully for one there not pin hinged. :redface

take a look at the underside of the gun, just in front of the trigger... there are indeed pins

 

BTW if you zoom out on that digibash what you see is a white gun w/ a black handle and scope... at a distance it could be confused for something real.

That is awesome! Almost exactly what I had in mind for changing the colours when I get him. Just have to figure out the translucent plastic, might just end up being solid red. I might also paint the orange tip of the gun and scope red. But that does look so much better than the 'safety' colours Hasbro were basicly forced to go with.

Yeah I can see how the black/silver scheme could look gunlike from a distance. Though I'm sure most people will either pose him or only play with him within the confines of there home Hasbro isn't taking any chances. Toy guns are very taboo these days, never know when some ftard kid after playing to much GTA will attempt to pull something that will either get them in serious trouble or shot.

 

Okay, that is about as political as I'm going to get reguarding this toy. Bottem line is I like it and am actually really excited to be able to get a G1 esque Megatron that looks at least half decent. G1 Megs may have had a near perfect alt mold, hence the controversy, but his bot mode was craptacular tio say the least. Even if a reissue would someday by the grace of God happen I'm not too sure I'd want one. I guess maybe as a collectors piece but as a toy hell no. This Megatron IMO is the best of both worlds. A first time gun for people who don't have an original a nd a imediately recognizable bot mode that by far pwns the original.

Oh, and you all know I'm a Tank not gun person. I could simply say "and this is why Megatron should not be a gun, ets, etc but despite my earlier comments in the b/w threads I'm definitely willing to give this one a chance. Like LMH basically said. Megatron released a gun happens once in a lifetime so enjoy it for what it is and not what you want it to be.

Beast Wars and RiD Megabolt Megatron had pretty good bucket head sculpts.

Really, we should just be happy we're getting a Prime and a Megatron that isn't towering over all the other bots.

 

I mean, I love MP Prime as much as the next guy, but Grimlock shouldn't be ready to give him a little service if he stands in front of him....
