How to get the smoke smell out?

New toy smell >Smoked toy smell.  :puke

Not trying to start up with anyone it's just that I can't tolerate the smell of nicotine at all. Just opened my latest in mail package and though the boxes wern't half bad the toys themselves left me coughing. Aside from the smell nothing looks yellowed so that's good. As of now I have them all standing in front of my open bedroom window. Should help a bit but I think I may need to give the lysol a try. Recomended?

hmm it could help.409 would help too.

well, it's good your mom does that for you.  i wouldn't make mom or my mother in law stop smoking at their own house, but when they came to visit us they had to do their smoking either before they got there or walked down the stairs to smoke outside.  mom's quite though, thankfully, and she's realized that getting around is much easier.  she doesn't cough no where near as much as she did when she was smoking.

I didn't make my mom quite smoking, just had her stop smoking inside the house when we came to visit.  We would go outside and talk if needed.

Now that this topic has come up I'm gonna have to find some of my old toys from her to see/smell the difference.

i think most of mine have aired over time.  alot of my toys where stored in a ceader chest for a realy long time.  wasn't realy a big problem with smelling anyway kuz mom smoked lights, well she hasn't smoked in a long time anyway :-P  just for clarity, i wasn't trying to be smart just stating my situation ^_^

What about them little "Do not consume" packs they have in new trainers? Do they draw the moisture out of the air to keep 'em fresh or something?

May work!?

my gramma says that this is all blown out of proportion...i got 2 packages from said guy today and she says they smellt better than anything i have bought from wal-mart...she has a sensitive nose and cant stand the smell of the new plastics, or the mold release crap or something..... but anyway ummm im sorry i wasnt trying to start anything or discllaim anyone .... my gramma made me do it

lol, the whole smoking thing is blown out of proportion :-P

you wanna talk sensitive noses?  my grandma could smell cologne on your clothes for a week after you'd washed them.  i'd like to know how old ppl got their sensitive sniffers.  i don't have one by a long shot, either that or most smells just don't bother me.  my wife has a good sniffer too, she can be in the living room and know when i'm painting my nails or polishing metal.  also where she's alergic to marijuana she can tell ya when somebody's been smoked it at least 2 days later.

will avoid thy ol lady

I just used some clorox wipes on some smokey toys I just recieved. It worked.

:pfx I was very pissed when I won a lot of BW figures for a really good price and when I got them, they obviously reeked of cigarette smoke. There was a Tigatron in there that I am still not sure if it was yellowed by the smoke or b/c the US version has more of a yellow tint than the Takara version.

Anyway, that is one of the worst things when you get a package you are all excited about, you open it up and.... you are blown away (pun intended) by the cigarette smell. Not fun at all.

Luckily w/ the BW lot, I was able to get 6x the value for them b/w the ones I kept and the ones I sold. Anyway, cigarette smoke sucks ass.

ya, it's the main reason i don't hang out alot with my old friends, that and they don't understand that i've decided not to smoke anymore out of respect for her.

thats love if ive never seen it.....i want to say congrats but damn what a sacrifice
