Prime and Magnus Brothers?

Recommended Posts

I don't care what the Dreamwave comic said.  I don't care what Diaclone or Takara said.  Ultra Magnus is what we know from the movie, the cartoon series, and the Marvel comics.   That is all.  He is not a Prime clone covered in battle armor.

Sorry, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't count. The DW comics were offically-licensed, not internet fan-fics. UM is a white version of Prime in armour, just like the toy.

Certainly, but as far as the character is concerned, Ultra Magnus is what he is in the cartoon and Marvel comic.  To me, there is no Magnus who then becomes Ultra Magnus. He is only Ultra Magnus.

That's fine for you. However, you can't just say the "I only like the Marvel comics and G1 cartoon and therefore nothing that came aftwards counts."

Because it does.

We all saw UM in white-prime-clone mode in the DW comics and the toy. YOU may not like it, but that's neither here nor there.

Okay, no need for you to get upset.  I just think the whole armor thing is kind of weak.  Why do so many fans insist on having people take them by the hand every step of the way when it comes this sort of thing?  Do you have to have every single little thing explained to you?

No,  no one insisted on the explanation, but the simple FACT of the matter is that it WAS explained.  And by an officially licensed company, which makes it official.  Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it didn't happen :thumb .

Of course it was licensed, how else would it be done?  Maybe some people feel that Pat Lee should be in jail, but he might have been if DW published unlicensed Transformers comics.

Also, why does everything that DreamWave have to be official?  They were there own continuity.  They did not continue the cartoon nor did continue the Marvel series.  All they really were was just fanservice, nothing mre than that.

Why is it so hard to accept this explaination?  Most generations within the TF Universe are seperate from each other with seperate story lines.  I think it is a very interesting.  Besides, its all ficition.  The fun thing about ficition is that you can change it to what you want.  I like to think of OP and UM as brothers like in RID.......right or wrong...

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, dude. :)

DW stuff IS official... just not in the same continuity as anything else. Anything produced under licence from HasTak is official... but they're not all within the same continuity as each other.

The G1 comics and cartoon have always been separate continuities - does this make one more or less official than the other? Of course not. They're both official, despite existing in different realities.

I quite liked the idea that Magnus was the battle suited brother of Optimus, it added weight to Prime handing the matrix to Magnus in the movie, giving it to a person he trusted.

But then i rather like the idea that Megatron and Glavatron are not the same being, with Galvatron being an upgraded (and mental) clone of Megatron.

Funny how Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are twins but look nothing like each other, yet Skywarp and thundercracker are never mentioned as twins.

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are Spark-twins. Skywarp and Thundercracker are separated gay lovers. :P

That proves it - Optimus Prime was a NEPOTIST! Boooooo!!!
