About the only thing that saves Primal is his robot face. It's not at a face that immediately says Primal to me, but still looks okay. Everything else about Primal is a big meh...

I can't believe that some actually think the G1 Neo line will simply suck because of these two. If Primal/Megs and  Astrotrain are any indication the whole line will be Cybertron esque the whole run through. I also can't believe this is a surprise to some. Hasbro and the people at Botcon have been hinting at this about a year ago. New molds/cyber key gimics. Whatelse could you possibly think. Meh. I'm just wasting words at this point. Simply buy em if you like em and by all means pass em if you don't. I absolutely love the molds and see them as being big hits when they surface. Energon Grimlock/Swoop this is not so that said they could've just as easily been a lot worse.

 

BTW the thought of the originals being released stateside seriously kicks ass. I'd have no objection whatsoever to grabbing all four. :thumb

I've said it before and I'll say it again:  Megatron is awesome, Primal is alright, but I'm getting them both anyway.

 

Did anyone notice that Megatron's box art is a mirror image of the real figure?  The T-Rex head is on the wrong side in robot mode.  Duh Hasbro!

I never said that I thought the Neo-G1 line would suck. I am only saying that based on the resounding praise that these two BW bots got at Botcon, I am hesitant to trust those same people and their opinions of Neo SS and Megs.

 

If they thought Primal and Megatron were "god-like," a quote that I very clearly reading from multiple people, then it makes me doubt what they said overall.

 

I think that Neo Astrotrain looks pretty good, and I have a lot hope for the line,  but I want to see the rest of the figures before I say the entire line is going to kick ass, especially if I am saying that based primarily on what other people told us at Botcon.

 

I still think that these new BW Primal and Megs look like POS. I am very much unimpressed and will not be getting them.

There's a TRU listing for some kind of "Optimus and Megatron store exclusive" priced at $35 coming out in the near future.

 

Some are hypothesizing an American release of the BWR set.

It is a TRU "exclusive" - Hasbro didn't seem to think that the set with the small version of Energon OP & Megatron was going to impact sales of the larger figures.  (TRU only has about 20% of the overall toy market - most of the deluxe-sized guys will go out the door at Target or WalMart anyway.)

agreed, that is the mitigating factor..... otherwise there would be a lot more legitimate concern over those guys IMO

The plastic on Hasbro made TF always seems really cheap, like with Energon Dinobot and Swoop.  These look like that same kind of plastic to me.

 

 

Also, the idea of a monkey that surfs IN THE AIR is so surreal and strange when you think about it, but it seems like Primal HAS to be a monkey with the ability of flight. :tfhuh

what is it that people dont like about him ok his ninja star arm is a pain but apart from that hes awsome for a toy that sold for like £8 and he has black(ish) paint apps and transparent blue plastic. plus hes transformation is more then just standing him up right like most primals

Well, I liked what I saw before, and I still like them both now.  Primal more than Megs.  My only problem with either of them is the non-rotating wrists on Primal and that does not bother me much.
