Well that's clearly the case now, but originally they hyped it as one Transformer to represent the line, not the first in an "Icons of Transformers" series.

 

There was also at the time the rumours of the Brave Masterpiece figure as the next in line, and it was on it's way, but was eventually released as MPB01, now carrying a specific letter as many of Takara's products usually do when line specific.

 

It became obvious what this line was going to be, whether originally intended or not, when Magnus was announced though.

 

you can't say this about just ss because magnus does the same, at least as far as what you said is concerned.

I didn't say it about Starscream at all.

Starscream goes against what many saw the line as originally, but actually still fits in more with the whole representing a line thing than Magnus (hence the redface smiley), Thundercracker, Skywarp and Sunstorm, most of which are bound to see release.

These extra figures, make it more like a regular line or an unoffcial side line to the Alts.

After all, there are no seekers in the Alt line yet and scale or not, the robot modes would be about right as they are with MP prime.

 

And I don't know about here, but there are some people who see that as a terrible way for the line to go.

Not saying I'm one, I have my MP Prime and Magnus with my Alts so couldn't call anyone whether I agree or not, just explaining that some see the way some use it as missing the point.

we obviously know now that mp prime isn't an alternator so the corilation between the two will be just coincidence, unless thats how hasbro is going to choose to market ss.  i realy don't see hasbro being stupid enough to not release the ss, but i'm going to go ahead and pick up mp ss just to make sure, that and i'm assuming that if hasbro releases it they'll change something.

imo, i think it's a bit over the top to give sanctity to a toy line (i.e. "zomg they're totaly gonig to burn in hell for Powerglideing up the masterpiece line by adding to it"), but everybody's entitled to their opinion ^_^

Well, considering they should be pretty big already it's hard to imagine anyone choking on them.  I'm more worried that they may want to rubberize his sharp edges (wingtips, nosecone, etc).
