did I mention that I hate barbie sized transformers...

If they do the seekers I will pass, gigantor prime takes up enuff space, a masterpiece jet has the potential of being twice as big even if the resultant fig stands as tall a prime (wings take up space)

I would much rather have a ths screamer btw

*has mp3 preordered*

one more time

jet mode = 30 cm in length

and if he comes with a sweet display stand he wouldn't look out of place at all, lots of model jets are 1:48 scale and he'd be smaller than that

I mean really, who collects models of old semi trucks... w/o trailers

its not the length that gets me (plus I didnt read the translation) it the width and plus I dont get the metric system, do I LOOK canadian

somewhere the president of Mack truck is crying

I dont mind paying top dollar for a magnificient toy of some great charachters, of course that is pricey and not everyone can afford it so I see where you guys are coming from.

I don't mind paying top dollar for great characters either, but that wasn't really the main point of the Masterpiece at first as I recall.

From all the talk that initially came up, Masterpiece Prime was supposed to be the definitive Transformer.

The most iconic character, the best engineering, representing the past, present and future of the franchise, the ultimate standalone piece, suitable as the jewel of a huge collection or just a lone monument in a study of a non toy collector with fond memories.

And if I'm not mistaken that's roughly were some come from.

So it's not that they couldn't afford it or don't buy figures based on characters, just that that is at odds with the spirit of the line as it started out.

but I will say that Prime is still Prime and Magnus is just... Magnus.

:pfx w/ everything

But like with any toy, some people will buy it, some won't, but that's pretty much the good thing about the TF Universe as a whole, there's something for everyone.

they might repaint ss a few times, but i think the whole purpose (other than making money) is to give deffinitive characters for both factions.

prime is THE autobot (and we where given a magnus as a "meh, lets make a quick buck") and ss is THE decepticon, and while megs was the leader, it's been my experiance that ss is just a more popular character overall.  we'll get the subsequint seeker repaints for the same reason we got magnus.

So it's not that they couldn't afford it or don't buy figures based on characters, just that that is at odds with the spirit of the line as it started out.

you can't say this about just ss because magnus does the same, at least as far as what you said is concerned.

paying more than $100 for a Transformer = I would have to kill myself

If you were me, you'd be dead 3 times. :redface

MEH

paying more than $100 for a Transformer = I would have to kill myself

I'd say it depended on the TF and stuff. If i was gonna buy an old Grimlock that;s like in perfect condition, i'd expect to pay over 100... I wouldn't be exactly happy with it though. I'd also pay that much if, for some INSANE PowerglideING REASON, Hasbro made a masterpiece Fortress Maximus that actually made him cool and stuff. it'd have to cost over 100 bucks simply because of how theh ell are they gonna pull off THAT many parts  in a damn masterpiece version of a Fortress Maximus at a reasonable cost?

Now doing it three Powerglideing times is insane.
