BTW I guess when I think "easily recognizable", I mean characters that non-fans would recognize. That to me is the mark of a classic character. Obviously everyone knows who Optimus Prime is... I mean, my friggin mom and dad know about him. After him (and he is by far the #1 most classic TF character), I think it's a pretty short list. Probably Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave. (The Decepticons had more lieutenants than the Autobots, for whatever reason.)

 

Would any TF:TM-era character qualify for MP treatment...? I dunno. The movie was both the high point of G1 and its ultimate downfall. The characters, as great as some of them may have been, just weren't the original Transformers cast like Prime and the other guys I mentioned. And it's really hard for ANYTHING to live up to the hype and nostalgia of the original.

 

so anyway, BW Primal / Megs? sure why not

 

Megatron would probably be the size of a Jurassic Park T-Rex toy though...

I kindof doubt they would do any BW masterpieces.  Since they already made their 10th annivessary figs this year.  Maybe in ten more years.

Ok, so Bumblebee is another very good one. Although I think that making him a BT would be good enough.

 

I just mainly wanted to add something that I read on the tfw2005 boards. I wonder if MP SS will be able to hold the MP Prime Megatron gun. That would be awesome and something fairly easy to achieve.

I agree, I think I speak for a large part of the fandom(I know there are always some who will disagree) when I say that the Masterpiece line is the greatest line in the HISTORY of all transformers, G1 thru Binaltech/Alternators.  Its one of the lines where we dont mind dishing out a $100 because of the sheer detail of the toy.  As far as which figures to do next, I think they could pull of the Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen model fairlady, or how about a Bumblebee/Cliffjumper.  If we're talking repaints, all those molds would need just slight remolding for multiple charachters.  I've always thought about MP Soundwave that would work as a real radio/tape player, I can dream anyways.

And say what you will about BW be you fan or not, but none of those charachters are near as Iconic as the originals that Madhammer named.
