Alternators Rumble Pics

This debate about Rumble/Frenzy being red/blue is Powerglideing stupid. To my limited knowledge he was purple in the show and imo that set the standard.

The crazy thing is, And I think every one should know this by now, The toys came first. The shows are made to market the toys. The toys always come first with the exception of the toon accurate product releases. The G1 show was no where near accurate! *my brain hurts* Megs didn't have a gun trigger wang, Ironhide and Ratchet had Heads, Bumblebee's wheel on his arms were missing, Wheeljack only had one shoulder missle, Rumble was purple (there is no purple g1 Cassette to robot*save for Ratbat*), Windcharger and Brawn had humanoid faces on the show, Starscream had thighs, Ravage wasn't flat as a board,

Jetfire, Jetfire, JETFIRE! Looked nothing like the toy and his name was Skyfire on the show. Rumble's Red. Maybe if they make a 23rd anniversary toon accurate Rumble he'll be purple but this is Alts and it looks like to me they went with toy/toon accurate

And still there is nothing stopping anyone from naming their Alt. Rumble whatever they want to call it. My red one will be Frenzy, hopefully if they make a blue repaint, it'll be Rumble. Is that going to end the world? Nope.

I do think nostalgia plays a large part in it, no matter what.

That said, I completely understand that for a lot of people, the cartoon is what they remember with greatest fondness, and since Prime (and every other Autobot) had blue eyes in the cartoon, that's more like who Prime "is" to them. Which is fine. It's just not my experience.

Same thing with Rumble. I had the toy, and I always thought the red and black color scheme looked better. Not to mention the fact that I also thought Frenzy was like "Rumble Lite" and didn't really add much to the show. So to me I always preferred Rumble as the red and black guy, because I wanted to match the cooler character (in my opinion) with the cooler color scheme. And anyway, it did say "Rumble" on the card, so I felt like I wasn't just making his name up.

But again, I know that for some people, it was all about the cartoon. That's fine too. I guess the only thing I bristle at is when people make statements like "it should/must be this way". Well maybe for you it should, but what about everyone who doesn't share your opinion? Aren't they just as entitled to fanwank as you are?.

I think I must have OD'd on my meds.  I just found myself nodding at a Madhammer post about Alts. :redface

As for my opinion on the toy itself... I dig the legs, the back guns, and the piledrivers.  I hope there's a "hand" option, as that would be a quick and easy way to set R&F apart visually in bot mode (something I'm a stickler for).  I'm definitely going to be touching up the head, the colors are damn strange.  The cassette spools on the chest are a nice touch.  As for the rest of the upper body... as far as I can tell, that's all car underbody.  Which means that his back is pretty much the car body, slightly mangled. :tdown  It's just my preference, but I wish they had done more to incorporate the car body into the bot mode.

Finally... every time an Alt is designed with a butt-flap, I die a little inside. :tfsad

*still plans on buying both R&F* :tflaugh

Closing thought on RIBFIR, only way to satisfy everyone... Color Change Alternator!  Frenble?  Rumsy?  Just like those pens you had in fourth grade, watch as the temperature changes your Civic from Blue to Red and back.  All the fan boys rejoice and there is peace in the land of Fandom.  Transtopia! :clap

Finally, someone says something new.  I have been thinking about that the whole time that debate was going on.  You're right, most likely when you look at the bottom of the car, your going to see half the bot right there.  I hate when that happens.  I'm not going to complain too much just this once though.  Just hope they don't make it there regular thing.

As others have said it did set the standard for show fans, but not everyone's show fans.

What really bugs me is not when show fans say their preference is that Rumble be blue, it's the way some bang on about the show as if it and it alone made the toy line what it is, that Hasbro clearly make everything show accurate because it's the show that counts, not anything they don't like, as has been seen in here.

And in other places it gets worse as those of us who didn't grow up with the show are attacked because clearly (to them) we somehow forced Hasbro to make figures with comic or toy nods and ruined it for them, the "real" fans.

It gets old fast and that's why so many non show fans are instantly so argumentative when it comes up.

I mean imagine how show fans would feel if they constantly got bitched at because Dreamwave or the movie use Spike instead of Buster.

Or if they made an Alt Skyfire and we complained and kept insisting it "really should be Jetfire", not that we'd prefer it that way, not that we'll call it that, that it should be.

You'd tell us to stop whining and get over it.

Same thing applies here.

Funny thing is, I was fanatically obsessive about the TV show... but I still like my Rumble to be red. I guess it depends on what you're referencing. IMO it's okay for a toy Rumble to be red, since the original toy was red. But if they ever make an Alternators TV show, they can feel free to make him blue in that. :tflaugh

Of course, all this is null and void as the G1 toon was totally lame.

Let's just hope we actually get a blue one later. That way everyone can be happy (yeah right) and people can call them whatever they want. When do we get Rewind and Eject? :P

Nope. The world wont end. But if people keep complaining that Hasbro is crazy for naming the red one Rumble, my head will explode.

Yes, it is getting tiresome.

btw, if I havent mentioned this before. I like it and hopefully Bainreese will have some more pics for us in the near future as he alluded to in the Alt. Mirage thread.
