No one said that that they were unusable.

 

Hasbro seems fine with guns being located on TFs' backs, even when the figure doesn't really make good use of them .*cough**cough*CybertronJetfire*cough*

 

But if Rumble has to bend slightly anyway to use his piledrivers than guns on his back wouldn't seem too insane.

....but, this isn't the Cybertron line. Every Alt/Binaltech so far has had a conventional take on their weopons. I'm not saying it's bad either if the weopons were add-ons just to capture a look. I'm just saying it takes a new turn in the line.

Unfortuntly looking at him I BELIEVE I see his "hands" if you want to call them that, It LOOKS like the "piledrivers" ARE his Hands?!?  Yah I see BM Cycle Droneesq fingers at the end of a pile driver and I beleive theres an Elbow joint in the "'Driver" shaft.

Less than pleasing weapons are nothing new to the line.

Arms telescope up, drums hinge open, hands rotate out on ball joints, then shut drums.  A hinge for an elbow would be nice aswell.

It's still not at all what I wanted Rumble to be (among other things, FIRRIB), but it's a thousand times better than the terrible X-Brawn copy we saw first.  Looks like a reasonably solid sculpt otherwise.  On the other hand, Hound is in absolutely no danger of ever being displaced as best Alternator released.

Really dude, that X-Brawn thing was pretty cool. Though

It didn't look like it had hands... I still like it better.

Rumble will definitely get my purchase regardless.

I mean it is just a way us fans are more used to them,

That's what I thought at first. It would explain why they didn't use the wheels as piledrivers like in the original picture.

 

But it looks to me that it's just another part of the piledrivers' mechanics. Like CD Red's hammer probably.

Frenzy redeco, ok photoshop job, but there seems to be a lot missing. Too much blue I think? More grey would be better?
