Hey guys, I wanted to seek the interest of those of you who have created your own characters. I am starting to become interested in fan-created TFs again, especially in my own customs. If you guys would, I would really like those of you who would to please post name, bio, faction, etc of your character, a robot mode image, and a alt mode image of your character in this thread (or at least a link to such). If you do not have anything rendered visually, you may post a brief synopsis of your character.

 

I am both a 2-D and a customs artist, and I just thought it would be fun to possibly render some of your guys' characters. In terms of retaining 'ownership' and credit for your fan characters, not to worry; I'm pretty maticulous about citing my sources and such. I always only credit my own work and nothing else. Tumbler Gallery

 

Name:  Tumbler

Faction: Autobot

Function:  Recon scout

 

In thier thier desperate bid for Energon and survival the Autobots sent out several small Recon teams to search for planets with both viable resorces and if neccesary habitable conditions for possible refuge colonies.  Tumbler is a member of one of those Recon teams.  He specialtizes in terrain mapping and geologic survey.  His sensors allow him to create three dimension diagrams of any terrain, both above ground and up to 1000 feet beneath the surface. 

 

Tumbler is a fearless and sometimes reckless adventurer always searching for the next big thrill. Every battle is a new opportunity to push himself to his limits, and every new world he recons serves as a testing ground for new stunts and techniques. He relies on luck and speed as much as he does his own talent, but his chassis is dented and scorched from more close calls then even he cares to remember.

Well, I had an idea for a story set in G1, probably either before the Autobots left for Earth, or in the time period between 1987 and 2004.

 

No title as of yet, but it follows the 3rd Iacon Battalion, an Autobot Expiditionary Force, as they get stranded on an alien world, losing most of their number - only a little less than thirty survive the crash. And they have to fight their way from world to world to get back home, stopping to refuel on each world, and opposed by the Decepticons of the Hellfire Company.

 

Yeah, I know, sounds cheesey already. But it lets me whip up stories that don't require a leader named "Blahblah Prime", or an enemy leader named "Megatron" with a scratchy-voiced treacherous sidekick named "Starscream".

You know, I never even thought about that until now.  I only used the orange because I saw the Krylon Fusion and decided it was a cool color.

 

And his personality/function list is based more on a Sidesswipe/Beachcomber mix.

After the outbreak of the Cosmic Rust disease, both factions of the Transformers were tossed into confusion and desperation. 

 

The EDC and several car manufacturers worked together to create temporary bodies for the displaced Autobots, and unfortunately, several of thse bodies fell into the hands of the Decepticons.

 

The Decepticon's Military Operations Commander had seized Mazda's Street Edition of the RX-8 which was meant for the Autobot Jazz.  The transfusion into Jazz's new body was scheduled for the next day, but now...all hope was lost for moving Jazz to his new body.

 

Four active Autobots:  Smokescreen (Subaru WRX Rally Edition), Sideswipe (Acura RSX Type-S), Hound (Jeep Wrangler), and Red alert (Dodge Viper Convertible) were sent out in search of Shockwave. 

 

They found him at the nearby Mazda USA factory.  Not known for their expertise in covert ops, the three autobots charged in, but they did not find the one Decepticon they expected. 

 

Instead they found 10 of them.  Shockwave had made himself an army of Shockwave clones.  As the battle raged, Sideswipe fell.  The Autobots were not armed well enough to handle the onslaught of the "Shock" Troopers.

 

 

Damaged far beyond the aid of his comrades, Sideswipe's spark was immediately seized by the Autobot Red alert who transported it back to the EDC command center.

 

Red alert enlisted the aid of an Autobot Medic not from this time, and not from this place.  Another Red alert (Armada) displaced from his own galaxy by the time alterations of Ravage. 

 

 

Together Team Red alert rebuilt Sideswipe into a new body…a Dodge Viper Convertible donated by Sideswipe’s brother Sunstreaker.  Sunstreaker was another Autobot in need of a new body...and suffered in his old shell awaiting the spark transfer process after having his first stolen by the Decepticon Deadend. 

 

He gave up his shot at a new body for his brother.  However he didn't do it just for his brother, he did because he knew what was in the works.

 

Sideswipe was thus reborn as a new Dodge Viper Convertible.  Of course, Sunstreaker donated his old convertible body in favor of getting the newer Street Racing Viper originally stolen by Deadend.

 

Team Red alert was not done however.

 

Sideswipe’s old body could still be salvaged with time, and a little luck. The body was given an artificial intelligence program similar to the one Zoom-Zoom was later programmed with.

 

The program quickly latched onto the Autobot twin brothers, and the three have become an inseparable team ever since.

 

They even gave him the name VTEC after the model engine he carries in his chest.

I can never get enough of that Alt Armada Red alert.  He's jsut perfect.

iv got some 3d renders iv done as well as a teeny bit of artwork.

Thumper

Function:  Autobot Soldier

Vehicle:  1979 Cadillac Coup de Ville

 

 

When Grimlock had been created by Wheeljack and the Ford company they went through multiple versions of the same body untill they selected the right one to have Teletran 1 intigrate the new 05 Mustang car onto the robot body.  And after Wheeljack used one of the other bodies to upgrade himself into a racing version of the 05 Mustang, the others were left to collect dust. 

                  Fast forward half a year later, Ratchet and Wheeljack have decided to give other Autobots a chance to be upgraded, all the bodies that were left over from the design of Grimlock would be finished and activated.  It was a project that was thought up in conjunction with the junkyard that wasn't very far away from where the Binaltech project was taking place.  The junkyard was filling up fast with old wrecks and more were coming in, so the owners of the junkyard the Skinner brothers contacted General Spike Witwickey and asked if the could use any of their vehicles they had lying about.  Spike presented this idea to Ratchet and Wheeljack and they liked it, those Autobots who were picked would receive the robot body, but they could pick their own vehicle mode out of the ones available, plus they could alter the head so they all woulden't look like Grimlock.

                  When all the Autobots that were chosen were breifed on what was to happen, they were excited about it.  When they were shown the pictures of what cars were available, they all got quiet looking over and trying to decide what they wanted.  The vehicles were a selection of old classic cars that were big back in the age of the muscle car, they ranged from Inpala's, to Chevel's, to Chargers, to Roadrunners etc.  While the others were making up their minds, one Autobot spoke up "I've chosen" he said.  All optics turned to a robot that looked like the Cybertronian equivalent of an American custom car.  Looking over the list they had they found out that his name is Thumper.  Optimus had put him on the list as a request from Blaster and Jazz.  When Jazz and Blaster were stationed on Cybertron years before leaving for earth, they were part of a team that included Thumper.  Thumper was an invaluable asset to their team and the three of them became an unstoppable force, untill Jazz left on the Ark.

                    After Jazz left, Blaster and Thumper served under the command of Ultra Magnus untill Blaster transfered to help out Prime and the others.  And for months both Blaster and Jazz had tried to get Thumper here to earth.  Untill Thumper was put on the list of Autobot's undergoing Ratchet and Wheeljacks latest project.  The car Thumper had picked had appealed to him in cool style, Thumper picked the vehicle mode of the 1979 Cadillac Coup de Ville, and after picking the color purple metal flake and a cowhide roof pattern, and the head alterations, Thumper became the first sucess under the project.  Now the Autobots have the reinforcements they need, and Blaster and Jazz's triple threat team is back, so as Thumper would say "It's all good"

Thumper was inspired by the Twisted Metal character Thumper, I used the Grimlock Alternator, shaved it down an fit the body of a 79 Caddy that I had gotten off one of those stupid hopping lowrider models.  The head had the visor removed and the little pieces sticking up on the head shaved down.
