Usually a week or two. Sometimes, when ever I get a new bot. I Got Alt Prime and CD Redalert on the same day. I gave Alt Prime slightly more attention. I week later I got THS 02 and havent touched either of those toys.

I think the thrill of the hunt is what does it for me.  Waiting to see the toy in stores, or trying to win an auction is much more exciting to me then when I actually have the toy.

 

Case and point THS-02...still MISB and wrapped in the celo paper Japanese sellers seem to like putting toys in(which I love).

it depends, rid wedge still holds novelty for me because he's a cool figure. i got him with g1 scorponok and g2 massive megs. megatron got old within a day and scorponok is out by a few days. wedge still is cool though and i've had him nearly a month

These days, about 30 secs after i take the package out of the shipping box.

 

 

Haven't opened a new TF in about three months.

If it's like the Micromasters, they get played with for only a few mins. But I can rarely put my BinalTechs down!!

I tend to play about with a TF for a few days, then keep it on display.  Every time I play about with one of the TF's in the collection, it feels like new again.

Ahh the novelty factor. It wears off after a few weeks, but I still think all of mine are cool.

 

Current flame is THS-02 which my folks got for my birthday. Yes I'm 29 now, and yes I believe that birthdays should be fun, not just socks and aftershave.

I'm 26 and my parents got me BTA blaster for Christmas... I love how my mom was totally into it but my dad just rolled his eyes and laughed.  Yeah-- birthdays and christmas should be fun.

If I buy more than 2 at a time, the novelty wears off real fast from all of them.

 

If the mold is fantastic, like RiD scourge or Alt Grimlock, it never wears off.

Sometimes it wears off before I get it, especially if I got it from Ebay or the end cap.

 

I think the average time is about a week. 

When it stops feeling new, I just switch hands.

I've had him for years and only discovered two nights ago that his flying noise changes pitch, etc. as you change his angle of attack.
