Alt. Prime Deserves Not To Suck (so I did this)

Recommended Posts

I finally got my Prime and a camera, so here's some shots of mine. I don't really like that bumper/grill chest mod, so I skipped it, but I love how the rest came out. The legs don't have to be completley blue, guys.

Hahaha! Is it just me, or those this Prime look like a super hero? Dont get me wrong that is truly good work. Some of the best in this thread but the side pose looks to me like his head lights are cape connectors and his doors are a flowing cape, blowing in the wind. Then the extended looking legs with codpiece....Just take another look.

another thing, now from the waist down he has a Cybertron Prime homage.

*Im not making fun of this creation, Just noting my own thoughts when I saw him. I like it :thumb *

I just got my Alt Prime I really want to do this mod.

However - i am afraid my KB'ing skills are craptacular and i have no tools.

The thing with the chest -still confuses me.  And I am unclear - do i have to buy a Dirtboss to make it work?

Also my Prime's knees are really really loose. i dont see an easy way to get in there and beef up the joint. Any suggestions?

You don't have to buy an Energon Dirtboss, but do have to cut out a piece of plastic that will attach the front of the car to the chest.  A lot of things could be used.  STPrime used a screw/peg to attach it, so you can try his way as well.  I think it's easier.

The knees on mine aren't *too* loose, but are in danger of being a problem if they get any worse.  You can open them up to fix that though.  Take apart the lower legs first and remove the upper legs from them.  You'll now be able to get at a screw on each leg, but still have to pop out some pins higher up on the thigh.  A bit of paint in the joint or a little bit of clear nail polish should be good to tighten it up.

Clear Nail Polish is my friend! :clap

Also did the shoulder mod the same way C16LioConvoy did. I may need to add some paint apps like he did too.

C16LioConvoy,  what did you do with the fenders?  i put them in his backpack.

nice really like the mod....im too chicked to do that to mine though.

O...M...G!!!!  That IS the Prime I know!  That guy is just sooo bad assed!

Edit:  Think I'm going ot have to pick up a couple of these guys. :thumb

I did.  :tfgrin

Alt Prime is really cooler than he has been given credit for based on all of the photos prior to his release.  I also felt the review at TFormers was a bit harsh as well, although the reviewer had some valid points.  Even despite my positive biases towards this great line, I have to admit I was rather skeptical of Alt Prime.  After he finally got here, I grew to really like him.  I eventually want to do a few customs with this mold and this thread has further fueled inspirtation for that.   :thumb

Just asI thought.  I got him and I love him!  :thumb

The only thing I can biyotche about is the shoulder kibble and that break away bumper.  I think they could have done more about fastening it in instead of having it as a breakaway part.  I thought Hasbro just got lazy in this respect.  Otherwise I think Alt Opt is cool.

Themods everyone did though are fantastic.  I don't see how they'll transform without breaking everything apart to put it back together though.

I think Im gona do the shoulder/knee mod to mine, but I have one question. where did the bumpers and seats go? I don't wana make him into a pieceformer. are they relocated? Im also gona paint the valve covers to red as they should be on a viper. also, the Knee mod takes a big chunk out of the bed does it not?

I would answer if I knew.

I think he's refering to the grill surround not the actual grill bars themselves. Chrome grill like this is not available on SRT-10s:

The seats stay on Prime's back.  STPrime's post in this thread shows how to do that.  As for the shoulder bits, I used them for the chest mod in the very first post.  Just check the thread over, it's all there.  A how-to guide will be going up at Transtopia at some point as well.
