BT Optimus Prime CONFIRMED!

I have problems communicating at times... I meant i hope they don't put her in a skirt and mold white panties on her.

the reason it's creepy, IMO, is because I tihnk it encourages a figurine fetish.

I happened to see a few scans of a couple of issues of magazine semi-dedicated to that yesterday. it was creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy.

Why not? Every detail is molded in, and that shouldn't be an exception. I don't understand your logic of not molding just ONE thing into a figure just because it's "creepy". If a char is in a skirt or dress, only cheapasses wouldn't mold the panties in, just like EVERY OTHER detail. And detail is important in collector's items.

I guess you're one of those american pro-censorship ppl, huh? :tflaugh

Not really. again, I was solely refering to the character of young Alexis when I said I hope they don't put her in a skirt and mold panties on her.

I could see them doing that if the character wore a skirt ans flashed people all the time, though, but she didn't. she was like 12-13.

maybe if so many anime fanboys weren't obsessed with SPAM then we wouldn't have these stereotypes. JMO

Actually, I only know ONE person that likes SPAM, nd he isn't totally obsessed w/it.

And for the record, that person isn't myself :tftongue

Pls tell... how's it creepy?

More than a few people see any or most figures with an anime style as young girls with women's bodies.

I hate when people do that.

of course, that doesn't mean that anime doesn't do it at times.... a lot of the anime stereotypes are true things blown way the Powerglide out of perportion.

maybe if so many anime fanboys weren't obsessed with SPAM then we wouldn't have these stereotypes. JMO

They'd be there anyway. :roll most SPAM doesn't draw their women as being little girls with adult bodies or obviously ten year old looking girls with big cans and asses.

again, I say most. SPAM and non-pornographic anime still do it. matter of facct, you find it MORE often in non-pornographic anime, in my experience.

and I should know.

>.>

Name ONE 10yo looking anime character with "big cans and asses". Maybe to YOU they don't look their age, but to most others they do.

I'm not denying that there are some cases of exaggerated bodies on girls in anime, I'm just saying that it mostly isn't the case.

On topic-the fig with BT Prime DOES look pretty young tho...

Sorry but I still think the girl in the picuture looks creepy.

May sound stupid but that is what I think. Most of the anime girls I have seen creep me out. I like my women with normal proportions.  :tftongue

Anime girls have more natural proportions than girls of other animation styles, actually(except the face, of course)

The exaggerations(like the one for the BT Prime fig) are made to look CUTE, not creepy.

when done right. I could easily show you 100 very oddly perportioned anime girls, or more.

It all comes down to artistic style, really. perportion is a big problem in drawings of any kind anyway. it spans all countries...

PM some to me, please. I would like to discuss this further w/o spammin poor li'l BT Prime's thread...

Uh yeah, I'm sure the way Merica draws/animates some of there super heros/women are alot more realistic/less exagerated then anime. Seriously give me a break. I am beginning to absolutely hate this narrow minded attitude a lot of the forum has long had that all anime is either SPAM or sexually orientated. A lot of it is yes but not all of it :roll

Also for the record I love the anime style but couldn't care less about SPAM or pokemon/card tournament related anime. I've said it before and been blasted in the past for it as well as I will probably now but it's crap like that which I think turns most people off to the various styles as whole. A lot of amazing stuff out there, too many people are just too narrow minded to bother looking for it IMO.

Apoligies in advance for my rant. I'm just finding this tiresome at best. :redface

On topic. If Alts ended all together I'd probably quit the line all together. BTs I'm sure are great, and I have no problem with either them or the people who collect such pieces, it's just a bit much to pay, and I personally prefer finding locally opposed to importing.

One point I thought I'd make before wrapping this up is that be it Alt or BT (doesn't really matter) there really not toys much in the same sense G1, Cybertron or any main line has been. There basically pose, and display pieces, and I personally find plastic more pratical though metal and paint may look better. Also the plastic really doesn't look half bad on a lot of them in either mold.

awww...i say be nice to the ranters..I mean..as unreasonable as it all may be..the ineternet is a fun safe and goofy way to get it off your chest :D

hooray for teh rants! XD

Did you even read my post fully? i said that ALL ART STYLES HAVE THAT PROBLEM NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY IT COEMS FROM

I was just disproving lazerblast's insinuation that anime doesn't have perportion problems, that's all.

anime leaves me cold for the most part... nothing to do with realism though (which is a ridiculous thing to argue about since animation is stylized by definition). I just find myself unmoved by it.
