I find putting "HOT ROD" on the car to be absolutely hilarious.  It's like tattooing your own name on your arm.

hilarious to U, not to me... at least the doors wont look so boring... if by putting the name on the car itself is hilarious, then what do U say about the alternators/binaltech's license plates? I mean, whats wrong with that? if U can call Alt/BT Deadend Deadend while his mold is actually Sunstreaker, y cant I call the red excellion HOTROD?

I find those just as hilarious.  I would call them on the level of Attention Whores.

Weeee...Look at me and learn my name.

its just like some racers in some WRC eg. Alt/Bt Smokescreen (Petter Solberg & Phill Mills) on his rear doors' windows... Are U trying to imply that they are Attention Whores too? its just that in this case, Hotrod is the driver himself putting on his own name... I seriously find nothing hilarious about it... and by the way, mind your words... thanks for your comments anyway...

the racers name are used to identify the drivers.

yup that's exactly my point! in my case, Hotrod IS the driver of himself!!

Just in any case that U might forgotten, throughout the history of transformers, tf cars can drive themselves, tf jets can pilot themselves, tf boats/ship can surf themselves, even a tf pistol can fire off himself...

do you need a name tag to identify yourself to your family?

Pretty sure 'HOT ROD' hangs around with other TF's... :roll

Unless you have multiple 'beings' controlling you from the inside next to you gut, and they are dressed Helmets and stuff....and which everyone can tell them apart from the outside with 100% certainty....and let's not forget there are mutiple versions of yourself (ala WRC team with more than one WRC car and consequently more than 1 set of drivers etc)........yeah.....I guess having your name is printed on you is not only good but an absolute requirement.

Then another question arises.........why not put the name on the forehead.....so everyone are sure to see you name when talking to you.....

Boggles the mind......boggles my mind!!!

Let's all wear name tags!!!

NoICE!!!!

OH....Let's not forget there are tons of that car model with that specific paint job running around on cybertron and eventually moving to earth......"HOT ROD" needs to be stamped on him...or her....

bahahahahahha

Whatever... Some people just dont get it... No point trying to explain... perhaps maybe those alt/bt characters should hide their license plates then... since people DONT NEED name tags to identify the alt/bt characters... by the way, if I dont remember wrongly, the original G2 tfs have their names on their bodies too...

and what, soccer players basketball players have their name on their uniforms too... do U mean they dont hang around with their teammates their family their friends? hmmm  :tfhuh

That's because they wear the same freaking clothes. :roll

So there are many bots who possess that same paint job, with the same alt mode, which has the same robot mode, and needs a name tag to identify themselves???

:wave

would it be posible for this bickering to one side.

the bot looks cool. my one crit would be that the orange headlights seem to blend in a bit too much with the colour. it would look better i think if they were blue rather than orange JMO.

yea i noticed that... too blendy... coz the G1 Hotrod has orange headlights... so i thought of keeping them... or what color would u suggest? u mean washing off the silver paint? hmmm ok will try.. thx  :thumb

i used those pipes too but i cut off the end with the minicon nub and glued them to the doors so that they'd be on arms.  but i like the look of what you did too, i might get a second set of those  pipes and put those on as well.  He'll definatly have a more toy accurate feel.

Well, we all know that Tracks, given the chance, would probably put his name on himself for all to see.  Sunstreaker too for that matter . . . . :P

Do the pipes sticking out the back knock his balance off in bot mode?

all bickering aside, i think this mod is a good idea. i'd have put the pipes closer to the edge of the leg chunk though [near the knee] so the flared parts of the pipes would just about cover the wheels. then maybe some silver spray ops/accents on the doors, thickening toward the pipes. but it looks nice as is.
