Hey anemis, this is another great project.  I was thinking it would be cool if you included a custom lazer beak that could perch on to megs shoulder or arm. How long do you figure before you finish for production.  I might just take the dive. Also if you have the skills for it a custom box would def put it over the top!! :thumb

jp custom is nice but the robot mode is more g1 toy accurate,robot master size and you have to take the gun appart to transform it mine on the other hand is toon accurate but the gun is different type the the g1 (no choice if you want a toon accurate meg) and stays in one piece while transforming except the arm rest that comes of from the side of the legs....and most importantly is masterpiece size...

I still think its possible to make the gun mode more toon accurate... Seriously your version look more like some starwars pistol in its gun mode than any earth pistol I have even seen...

 

Nevertheless through it's a "reissued" thread, thumbs up for Megatron's robot mode...  :thumb

well there will me modifications done on megatron like all of my usual projects that go into production and lazerbeak is a definitly a possibility as well as the energon mace as well...and all of the usual parts that go with the gun mode...

 

as for the box that is somethning that i always wanted to do and will have to check on that or comission someone to do it for me......

 

as for the timeframe required i,m presently working on mp-02 trailers and after that i,m moving into my new home and then after that i,ll work on finishing meg and molding him..... so i,m aiming for an october realese

the reason why i,ve started this thread is that when i saw the masterpiece starscream i,ve found out the real reason why megatron would,nt happen for the remolding reason like all that hasbro or takara does.... and that really bothers me allot and not because i made one and want to sell it (althought it proves that it can be done).... when it,s ready i,ll write it on my old thread and show some pictures of the completed product....

 

as for the gun mode i,ll me modifying some parts of it so it will look more EARTHLY and with the silencer and arm rest it will defenitly look more like the real thing.... anyway you cant build a acurate toon robot mode without compromising the look of the gun..... that,s what i,ve found out at this point....

 

and yes some collectors have already agreed to buy some....

your perhaps right ....but the thing is right here we are adult collectors and what we say is from an adult point of view and when we were  childrens  ...given the time has changes and some people have different views... now let,s push that reasoning of yours to everything ....no more transformers becauses they have weapons...HELL NO MORE GIJOE they are way to realistic with missiles, guns, ect... no more everything but plastic balls and dancing ropes ....heuuu... yeah you could strangle yourself with a rope and choke to death with a ball....so no more everything..

 

let,s keep this discussion to an adult point of view and not for are childrens... because if you look at reissues well megatron gun mode is there... no complaints there ...alternators and masterpieces too are from my perspective more for adults then kids ....so theres something for everyone.... so if we want a gun for meg hell why not it,s the way we,ve known him at the beginning and it,s the way allot of us would want him now .....

 

but like i said before everyone is entitled to their opinions.. so....

I think that MP megs and tank is an oximoron(sp).

 

could they make a really cool tank version of megatron with lots of fun accessories, and feature? sure, but it would not be a masterpiece because masterpiece implys more then just the size and quality of the figure. it means that there can be no better figure made to represent the choosen character.

 

making a MP tank megs would be like making a MP firetruck prime. yes prime has been a firetruck and I bet it would be a great figure, but it would not be the ultimate embodiment of optimus prime.

Actually MH I`m not certain but the dino mode for an MP Grimlock would probably be on scale with the one from the Dino Riders set. Seeing that the figures are 1:24 scale the dinos are probably pretty close so that`d make the beast mode for MP Grimlock about 1.5 feet long from nose to tip of tail and stand around 1' in beast mode height. This would allow for the bot mode to be approximately 1' tall as well making Grimlock one of the best MPs they could possibly do. In fact come to think of it my son has that old Bandai Q Rex megazord just sitting there in his room and he`s not played with it in forever. Maybe it`s time to ask him to donate it to my projects. I`d at least be able to get a good dino head to start building the rest of MP Grimlock from.
